We were able to achieve these results by focusing on weight training and increasing general activity. No fad diet, low calories or excessive training..... REMEMBER slow and steady wins the race.

It can be frustrating hearing that phrase banded around when the world still feels nothing like normality at the moment.
We all inevitably have to adapt to what is happening, and rather than focusing on all the things you can't do - you CAN bring some normality back into your life with a fitness routine!
It can take as little as 21 days to pick up a new routine!⏰... So become a creature of habit, make a plan, have some accountability and be prepared to shine 🌟

Frustrated you're not losing weight? Maybe it’s one of these 6 reasons 👇🏼

👉🏼🔹 Your portion sizes are too big.
If you’re a 5ft female you can’t eat the same portion sizes as your 6ft partner who is more active. Try eating off a smaller plate or reduce your portion size.
▫️
👉🏼🔹You aren’t moving enough. You won’t burn (many) calories while sitting down. Make up that lack of activity by walking to work, taking the stairs, or being on your feet more often. Simply move your body more and you’ll burn more calories.
▫️
👉🏼🔹 You aren’t giving your body a reason to change. You need to place stress upon your body and push through your pain threshold. Progression is key.
▫️
👉🏼🔹 Liquid calories - Think about liquid calories. An average pint of lager/cider is 250/300cals, while a fancy coffee with loads of sugar can clear over 300 cals. Aim to drink spirits with a diet mixer and coffees with no syrups and you should be able to keep consumption to a minimum.

👉🏼🔹 Snacking - Snacking too often is a very easy way to add extra calories. Ask yourself is this hunger or habit?

👉🏼🔹 You eat well during the week but come the weekend you undo all the hard work.

Life doesn't have to be boring to be healthy. Just make subtle changes to your diet, work hard, move more and have fun 💪🏼

My client and good friend Ismael at Rockid Ibiza offered to take me Cliff Diving for the day. Stood on that cliff, looking out to blue skies and crystal blue waters was a great feeling and one I won’t forget in awhile.
Since coming out of lockdown I have had so many ‘pinch me’ moments like this. Feeling a new sense of gratitude for this little island I call my home.
Ismael and his team are exceptional and they cater for all ages. Such a great way to explore this beautiful island 🙏🏼🌴 Thanks again guys. What a day!

✖️ FITNESS MYTHS ✖️
In the fitness industry, you hear plenty of bu****it. These are just some of the fitness myths I hear regularly 👇🏼
🔹 BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY - Listen to your body. If you feel good when you skip breakfast, and find you snack less during the day, there is no need to force yourself to eat breakfast.
🔹 WEIGHTS - Many women have the opinion that lifting weights will make them look bigger and bulkier. This is not true. A normal balanced diet, and a steady 4-5day a week training plan will not be enough to put on that amount of size.
🔹 CARDIO - There is no need to do 60mins on the x-trainer or treadmill to lose extra pounds. Strength training builds muscle and is a critical component of any program to aid the affects of long-term fat loss.
🔹 FAT & CARBS - These are 2 very important macronutrients which are just as important as protein. So many people see these as ‘bad’ macros and try to reduce them to levels that aren’t necessary. As long as you stay in a calorie deficit then it shouldn’t matter what the macros are.
🔹ABS - Your abs are always there....you just need to remove the layer of fat which sit on top of them. Being in a Calorie Deficit as often as you can, will make this more achievable.
🔹 SPOT REDUCE FAT - I hear many people saying, “I only want to lose fat from my thighs/arms/bum”. Unfortunately, fat loss comes as a package. And some places of the body are more stubborn than others - keep working hard!

✖️ DISCOMFORT ✖️
Feeling uncomfortable can often be a blessing in disguise 💪🏼
I believe there are good kinds of discomfort and this comes in all shapes and forms. This could be from the pain of working out, you may feel it in a presentation at work or just doing anything new for the first time.
Pintxo was 8 weeks when he was found in a box by the bins. At first I was reluctant to commit, I was way of out my comfort zone, it was new territory and was a huge decision.
Turns out, it was the best decision and he has added so much love and value to my life 🐾
For anyone scared of the unknown or taking on a big responsibility, it will be challenging however I can assure you, the rewards are priceless.
Whatever your situation, if you are serious about change, you have to go through uncomfortable situations 👊🏼

Hi, I’m Dan Cater and after embarking on my career in the military, I found a passion for not only fitness, but helping others to succeed.
From there I transitioned into a career as a personal trainer and created The Fitness Lab in London, specialising in weight loss and fitness performance, through customised fitness and nutrition programs.
After 9 years in London, I made the life changing decision to move to Ibiza and have not looked back. I now get to do what I love on this magical island, and have created a positive community looking to make changes both physically and mentally.
Most importantly we have fun whilst doing so!
I offer personal training, group beach workouts, and children's active game days.
I am committed to to having a positive impact on individuals lives and helping them reach their health and fitness goals. I feel a great sense of fulfilment watching my clients grow, while also trying to ensure that every client has a healthy relationship with food and exercise.
