People often link elbow pain to playing tennis and golf, and yes, you can get it from this, but it is not solely for those reasons though.

Medial and Lateral Epicondylitis is the official name for overuse of the muscles and tendons of the elbow, which is often caused by repetitive use of the wrist.

It is not just from playing sports, such as tennis, padel and golf, but also from jobs, such as painters, plumbers and using a keyboard or mouse.

If you find you are getting elbow pain, you can:
• Rest from the activity that causes it.
• Avoid over extending or flexing the wrist.
• Use an ice pack, wrapped in a tea towel on the tendon to help reduce the inflammation.
• If the pain persists you can try a support that is made specifically for this condition, which goes around the forearm under the elbow to take the pressure off the tendon.
• If you use a computer keyboard, invest in a wrist support pad.

If you find that it is persisting then you should contact a medical professional.
