A workout based on the proper alignment of the body and precise execution of the exercise; the Pilates Method is an appropriate exercise discipline for everyone at any stage of physical fitness. ​What is the Method?

​The Pilates Method is very diverse and includes a system of spring based apparatus. The apparatus provides assistance and resistance though the varying spring tensions. Some of the most challenging exercises are executed in the mat workout, which does not include any apparatus only the use of body weight and gravity. The Pilates Method is designed to be an individualized workout, designed by an instructor to the specific needs of the client’s body. The basic format that is followed includes a Reformer and Mat workout. Other apparatus including the Cadillac, high and small Barrels, Pedi Pole, Wunda, Electric, and Arm Chairs; are used to challenge and work specific weakness and imbalances. A well designed workout includes these apparatus.

​How is it effective?

​By repeating similar exercises in a variety of circumstances, the apparatus can increase the challenge of balance, flexibility, strength and coordination. Like any athlete, dancer, or musician the repetition of basic skills are an integral part of the workout. The benefit of one-on-one instruction is that an instructor will use additional exercises for the specific needs of a client’s body and function. Proper understanding and execution under the instructor’s guidance will result in the maximum benefit of the exercise. Private, semi-private and studio (class) sessions are available for pre-booking. Referrals from medical consultants are always welcome.

Not everything popular in movement culture actually supports better teaching or better client results.

In Pilates, the focus should always stay on how the body moves, not on chasing quick changes, rigid systems, or high-intensity expectations. Real progress happens when clients are given time to understand their bodies, build control, and develop confidence through consistency.

At Pilates Centre, we believe everybody deserves a tailored approach. Movement is never one-size-fits-all, and effective teaching respects individual needs, abilities, and goals rather than forcing everyone into the same pattern.

No todo lo que es tendencia en el mundo del movimiento realmente ayuda a mejorar la calidad del aprendizaje o los resultados del cliente.

En Pilates, el enfoque debe mantenerse siempre en cómo se mueve el cuerpo, no en buscar cambios rápidos, sistemas rígidos o exigencias de alta intensidad. El progreso real ocurre cuando se le da tiempo al cliente para comprender su cuerpo, desarrollar control y construir confianza a través de la constancia.

En Pilates Centre creemos que cada cuerpo merece un enfoque personalizado. El movimiento nunca es igual para todos, y una enseñanza efectiva respeta las necesidades, capacidades y objetivos individuales en lugar de forzar a todos a seguir el mismo patrón.
