NO ES TU CULPA.

No es falta de fuerza de voluntad: los ultraprocesados están diseñados para que comas más de lo que necesitas.

La industria alimentaria es un negocio.
Cuanto más desees consumir y más compres, más se enriquecen. Y ellos se aseguran de que justo eso es lo que va a suceder.

Los ultraprocesados son productos industriales elaborados con mucho procesamiento y aditivos.
Generalmente contienen altos niveles de azúcar, sal, grasas y aditivos artificiales, y han reemplazado en gran parte a la alimentación tradicional. Una combinación química perfecta para volverte adicto. A base de eliminar ingredientes reales y sustituirlos por otros que ni siquiera sabemos qué son, se nos facilita el acceso a comida sabrosa, fácil y rápida de consumir.

¿Por qué nos hacen comer más?

1. 🔁 Actúan como un “anzuelo” para el cerebro

La mezcla de azúcar, grasa y sal, junto con texturas suaves o crujientes, activa los centros de recompensa del cerebro, liberando dopamina (el químico del placer).
➡️ El resultado: placer rápido, deseo de repetir… y dificultad para parar.

2. 🧪 Contienen aditivos que alteran la saciedad

Emulgentes, estabilizantes, potenciadores del sabor…
Estos ingredientes mejoran la textura, conservan el producto, y hacen que parezca más “casero” o cremoso, pero no aportan nada nutricional. Puro veneno.
➡️ El cuerpo no los reconoce como “comida real” y no se activa bien la señal de saciedad.

3. ⚡ Son energía rápida sin nutrientes reales

Tienen muchas calorías, pero poca fibra, pocas proteínas reales, y escasos micronutrientes. Y cuando tienen pocas calorías el procesamiento es aún mayor.
➡️ Comes, pero tu cuerpo sigue buscando “algo más”, porque no ha recibido lo que necesita de verdad.

4. 🤯 Rompen la conexión cuerpo-apetito

Con el tiempo, el consumo habitual de ultraprocesados puede:
• Alterar tu nivel de hambre.
• Cambiar tu microbiota intestinal (que regula en parte el apetito).
• Volverte más sensible a los antojos, y menos sensible a la sensación de saciedad.

El azúcar envejece.

Y no solamente nuestra piel, marcando las arrugas, sino que produce daño celular.

Al consumir azúcar y alimentos que actúan como tal en el organismo, sucede un proceso llamado glicación, produciéndose moléculas dañinas (AGEs) que alteran el colágeno y la elastina de la piel. 🍭

¿El resultado? Menos elasticidad, más arrugas y por supuesto sobrepeso y otras enfermedades cuando el estilo de vida no está equilibrado.

La parte que no podemos observar a simple vista, es la inflamación crónica, afectándonos a nivel global. El consumo elevado de AZÚCAR o ALIMENTOS QUE PRODUCEN EL MISMO EFECTO QUE EL AZÚCAR nos envejece no solamente nuestra apariencia externa, sino también los sistemas vitales de nuestro cuerpo. 🧬

That’s what we all need and want, but why is it sometimes hard to acquire them, and mainly, why is it so hard to get rid of the bad ones❓

Habits form following this cicle:
1️⃣ - CUE: The cue is whatever triggers the behavior. This can be a place, a situation, a thought, an emotional state… (Example: walking past a vending machine on your way home).
2️⃣ - RESPONSE: Our behavior to this cue. The answer to the trigger. (Example: buying and eating a chocolate bar at the vending machine).
3️⃣ - REWARD: The reward satisfies the craving, so our brain quickly learns to repeat these routines, even if they are actually harmful for us. (Example: the chocolate tastes good and gives you a moment of pleasure).
🔁 You get used to this LOOP, and the same will happen every time.

A HABIT is an automatic behavior, but initially it requires conscious effort.

Is you food intake under control?

Emotional hunger and mental health problems related with food are more and more common each day, and it’s not only about self-discipline.

We are used to overeating all the time. We are used to treating ourselves with ice cream and sweets if we have to go through a break up or if we simply are having a hard day. We eat because we are stressed or anxious, but we also eat simply because we are bored or feel lonely.

Can we change this? Absolutely. Is it easy? Probably not at first, but it will be.

We have to LISTEN TO OUR BODIES. I continuously remind my clients to listen and to try to differentiate what their body is telling them and to ACT ACCORDINGLY.

Do not let food control your life. You have the control, and you can educate your body.

This is what is about. Listen and act accordingly. Be true to yourself.

Over exercising for weightloss?

Exercise is great for health, but is it that good for weight loss? 🏋🏼‍♀️🏊🏼🏃🏽‍♂️

Here are some facts:

1)
The calories burnt by exercise are just a small amount of the total calories you burn daily.
Your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is a mix of:
-Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): the amount of energy you spend at total rest.
-Your NEAT (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis): energy burnt in all the activities that don’t count as exercise (showering, brushing your hair, cooking, shopping…)
-Your Exercise Activity: energy burnt in exercise.
-Post Exercise O2 Consumption: after exercise you are still recovering and need energy for this.
-The Thermic Effect of Food: the energy spent in digesting, absorbing and metabolizing a food/nutrient.

2)
Our bodies compensate.
If you exercise more, your NEAT will most probably drop because you are tired. You will not be so active in other ways (taking the elevator instead of stairs, car instead of walking, more inactive time…).

4)
If you exercise more, your body will ask you for more fuel by making you hungrier, or you will allow yourself to have more energy dense - low nutrient foods as a “reward”.

5)
The main reason for exercise should be health, and over exercising can be unhealthy too. Injuries, compromised immune system, stress… can all be caused by overdoing it.

So WHAT SHOULD I DO???

Maybe it’s time for a reset. Take some very much needed rest, and don’t worry about putting weight on; just listen to your body - your hunger will also decrease. Create a plan to go back, involving nutrition, exercise and REST, and stick to it.
