MY STORY
I grew up in sunny rural Spain in a farm surrounded by olive trees and animals. I always knew I wanted to heal and look after animals so I went to University and graduated as a Vet in 2009. Since then I have been working mainly with horses as an ambulatory Equine Vet and more recently also with dogs as a Veterinary Acupuncturist. I have always had an interest in complementary therapies as a way of supporting health in myself and also in my patients and after a few years of veterinary practice using the Western Medicine model I felt that I wanted to explore the more holistic Eastern approach. In 2013 I decided to start a Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (IVAS). This course completely changed my understanding of the body and of health and disease and made me become even more interested in Chinese Philosophy and Medicine. In 2015, after I completed the Certification, I started a full time BSc (Hons) Degree in Acupuncture at the International College of Oriental Medicine with the purpose of deepening my knowledge in Classical Acupuncture and Chinese Philosophy. I graduated in the summer of 2018 with a First Class and I can now practise my Acupuncture skills both in people and animals. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Royal Veterinary College and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists. Treating both animals and people is a privilege and a challenge and I am continuously learning from their similarities and their differences. My aim as a practitioner is above all to be compassionate with my patients and to offer the best of my abilities in order to alleviate their suffering and improve their wellbeing.
