Clinical Collaboration Proposal – Integrative Neurovegetative Regulation Protocol as Therapeutic Support
Dear Medical Director/Clinical Team,
My name is James, an osteopath and manual therapist, and I am writing to you to present a clinical collaboration proposal for an integrative support treatment, especially geared towards patients undergoing complex processes such as cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, persistent pain, or situations of high emotional stress.
General Approach of the Proposal
This proposal is not intended to replace or interfere with any medical, psychological, or rehabilitative treatment, but rather to complement it, addressing a frequently determining factor in the patient's progress:
the regulation of the autonomic nervous system and the body's capacity for self-regulation.
Many patients present with:
sustained sympathetic hyperactivation
difficulty relaxing and regaining a sense of bodily safety
poor integration of treatments received
emotional states of fear, helplessness, or hopelessness
These factors directly influence pain perception, rest, treatment adherence, and quality of life.
Protocol Description
This is a brief, safe, and non-invasive protocol, applicable before and after manual therapies or as an independent support, based on:
guided conscious breathing
prolonged exhalation with gentle vibration/sound
interoceptive body awareness
From a physiological perspective, the protocol aims to:
promote activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (vagus nerve)
reduce alertness and defensiveness
improve neurovegetative coherence
facilitate the bodily and emotional integration of treatments
Clinical Utility as a Therapeutic Support
In practice, this approach can contribute to:
reduction of anxiety and baseline tension
improved perception of well-being and body security
greater receptivity to medical and rehabilitative treatments
better integration of manual therapy and less post-treatment rebound
a more positive and hopeful attitude in the patient at the end of the session
All this without risk, without pharmacological interference, and with full adaptability to each patient
