04/03/2026
3 days diving deeply and intensively into the art of Chinese pulse taking with Evan Rabinowitz in Barcelona 🫳🏻✨.
On this occasion, Evan introduced us into:
✅ Pulse segments: how to identify depths, assessing entire pulses on regards to different vectors such as integrity, crucial to determine the state of Qi, substances…
✅ Dynamic pulses: how to generate information from the pulses in order to assess the function and physiology between different organs.
✅ Pulses to assess the different channel systems: Channel Sinews, Luo, Channel Divergences and 8 Extraordinary vessels.
✅ The different historical perspectives on regards to pulse diagnosis stemming from the classics and, mainly Wang Shu He, Li Shi Zhen, the Nanjing including the more recent contributions from contemporary authors such as Dr Leon Hammer (& Dr Shen) as well as Jeffrey Yuen.
Through intensive practice participants learnt to identify the different parameters (7) and some of the combinations between them to generate the 28 (35) pulses images, as well as the practice of different models of pulse-taking in order to gather specific layers of information to help in building a solid diagnostic.
Developing these skills is a priceless tool in clinic that not only contribute to refined and precise diagnosis but also allows us to assess the effectiveness in situ while performing the treatment on the patient.
Thanks to all the participants from 14 different countries who joined us and special thanks to Evan Rabinowitz for the depth and clarity of his teachings and his warmth and generosity 😊🙏🏻.

🎯 UPCOMING EVENTS with Evan Rabinowitz 2026
📆 1. 🌿 1. Yaoshan Herb Program.
May 2026 - Feb 2027. 9-month | Online
The course is self-paced online videos combined with live, online zoom meeting 1x/month for Q&A, case studies and mentorship. The course is now available in multiple languages (Spanish, French, Italian, German and others upon request).
📆 🌿 2. The Essences & Qi of Plants: A Sensory Approach to Herbal Medicine
Jun 12–14, 2026 | Barcelona
This experiential course explores the essences and Qi of plants through direct sensory engagement with medicinal substances. Rather than approaching herbal study as a purely intellectual or abstract exercise, the course grounds learning in embodied perception—recognizing that sensory experience is central to true understanding and long-term clinical recall. Participants will work with the taste and thermal nature of herbs, examine how different parts of plants express distinct affinities and correspondences, and develop visual literacy through analysis of texture and form as indicators of function. Olfactory exploration will further refine diagnostic sensitivity and deepen insight into herbal actions. Throughout the weekend, herbs will be cooked in class, and participants will actively taste, smell, and handle medicinals as an integral part of the learning process. The course is designed to strengthen clinical intuition and memory by rooting herbal knowledge in lived, sensory experience.
The second part of the course explores the earliest layers of the Chinese materia medica tradition through the Shen Nong Ben Cao, examining the alchemical roots of herbalism and the ancient Chinese medicine tradition of using plants for spiritual cultivation and yǎng shēng 養生 - nourishing life.
📆 🐎🌱 3. Wài Kē 外科 (External Medicine): Integrating External Herbal Applications with Acupuncture
Oct 2–4, 2026 | Barcelona
This course introduces the core principles and clinical methods of Wai Ke (External Medicine), with a focused emphasis on treating both acute and chronic pain and complex, persistent conditions. Participants will examine how the integrated use of acupuncture with internal and—critically—external herbal therapies produces efficient and clinically meaningful results. Particular attention is given to a wide spectrum of topical and local applications, including liniments, plasters, salves, compresses, inhalants, oral washes, and navel plasters, which are central to wài kē practice. Clinical indications are discussed for conditions such as traumatic injury, sinusitis, headaches, shingles, hemorrhoids, non-healing ulcers, arthritis, and other stubborn pain syndromes. The course also reviews Wai Ke–specific pulse and tongue findings that reflect Qi obstruction, immune compromise, and impediments to the full resolution of chronic disease.
📆 🤓 4. Clinical Integration: Live Patient Cases & Integrated Acupuncture–Herbal Treatment
Feb. 19-20, 2027 | Barcelona
This intensive clinical integration course centers on live patient cases to demonstrate how acupuncture and herbal medicine are combined to achieve stronger clinical outcomes and expand a practitioner’s ability to treat a wider range of conditions. Emphasis is placed on practical diagnosis, strategic treatment planning, and real-time clinical decision-making, showing how internal and external therapies are coordinated for more complete and durable results. Participants observe full cases from initial assessment through treatment, with clear explanation of how acupuncture and herbal prescriptions are selected, adjusted, and integrated over the course of care.
📆 🫳🏻✨ 5. Pulse Diagnosis II
