At the edge of the latest dramas on social media, I wonder: who is Kino, who is Laruga, and who put them on a pedestal—the same pedestal many of us apparently can’t climb because of genetics, and that we definitely don’t even want to climb.
We all started around the same time—Kino, myself, and others—and Laruga even came to Mysore later.
When I was authorized back in 2003, the only thing we were asked to do was to keep a Mysore-style program in our own space and actually teach six days a week. That’s it.
And my community, the people I know and work with, have done exactly that ever since.
We were also asked to return every 15 months to renew the authorization, and we never paid a single coin for it.
And yet, all these people making noise, drama, and circus—not even that simple commitment do they keep.
The rest? Pure circus, a game of power and money.
All my respect goes to my fellow practitioners who continue teaching day by day with passion and dedication—outside of this media circus. And since I don’t have a great photo of myself in some advanced yoga pose, I’ll just put one where I look really good.
