The word ''No'', is a full sentance. But do you feel comfortable saying this simple word without any feelings of guilt? Saying no means:
No, I don’t want this
I don’t need this
it doesn’t fit me.
It is about setting boundaries.

If you find this difficult I want you to remember these words:
‘’If someone communicates their bounderies, that is them trying to keep you in their life, not push you away.''

Saying no helps you to stay true to yourself and the goals you have. It gives you focus and keeps away what you don’t need (anymore).

The phenomenon of not being able to say no (enough), is translated in the body in the colon/large intestines. Complaints like feeling stuffed, diarrhea, constipation or IBS, might be signals of your body to tell you to set your boundaries.

The last episode of this season is defenitly not the least. I talk to my gorgeous friend Lot about living in awareness and the road of self growth. My journey once started through her, for which I am forever gratefull. BUT it ain't all rainbows and sunshine. As you change, your environement changes. You get to face your demons and that can be scary as hell. But you move through and at the end, everything is exactly as it should be. As you wanted it to be. There is no way back. 💙

The benefits explained:

👀Digesting food requirs energy, energy that you can’t use within the moment for other processes.
When you are fasting, you can use this energy for boosting your immune system, your brains or decreasing inflammation.
👀Fasting will also turn ‘’white fat’’ into ‘’brown fat’’. Brown fat will increase your metabolism
👀The nutrition we don’t need as energy within the moment will be stored as fat.
👀When we eat regularly, the body will constantly make insuline. Our body will get used to the amount of insuline and make more, which makes us hungry again.
Insuline also blocks the creation of the hormone Leptine. Leptine inhibits the feeling of hunger. It also gives permission to free energy, which makes us feel energized.
👀Fasting activates autophagy. Autophagy is the proces where the body cleans our cells. It will repair the cells from damage and ageing.
👀Your genes will change in a way that relates to expension of life and protection of diseases.

How to fast periodic?
There are multiple options for periodic fasting. To benefit from fasting, you have to have at least a period of 14 hours where you don't consume energy.

🌱16/8: You eat 8 hours a day and fast 16 hours a day.
🌱24 hours: One day a week you fast for 24 hours.
🌱5/2: 5 days a week you eat normal, the other 2 days you eat as little as posible. This means around 500 calories.

⚡️My experience with fasting⚡️
I started fasting as a curiosity. I love breakfast food, so I could not imagine, giving up my favorite meal of the day. The first week I felt terrible, my body was not used to this. But after the first week, everything changed. I experienced all the benefits of fasting and never felt as good. I had a lot of energy! I felt hungry when I was able to eat, this was normally something I struggled with. My metabolism was working normal, finally. I didn’t experience acidification during sports anymore. And although I did not want to lose weight, my body composition was changing. For years I had the same weight and would never get rid of fat in certain areas. This changed, into me losing centimeters in a blink of an eye.

🧠The fittest version of myself - part 3 - mental health🧠

Being healthy and fit for me includes my mental health.
I know I feel best, when I have time to sit with myself, make space to check in with how I feel. And have the time to feel. I know what tools I love to use for this.

Taking care of your mental health, doesn’t have to be difficult or spiritual. It simply is; whatever makes the soul happy. For me it can be as simple as:
🐚Taking time of from work.
🐚 Going to the beach.
🐚 Booking a massage.
🐚 Listening to music.

But I also chose to use the mornings and evenings as check in points.

For example in the morning:
🌸I say affirmations while connecting with my body through yoga.
&
🌸I leave my phone on airplane mode for at least 30 minutes

And in the evening:
🌸I write down what I am grateful for.
&
🌸I visualise my intentions, using the 68 seconds method.

I also use the new moon and full moon as evenings where I take extensive time for myself. I reflect on the time past and the time ahead of me. Focus and reflect on my intentions. And relax with an evening of yoga and meditation.

🌸Welcome Spring🌸

The days are slowly getting longer and personaly I can not wait for this change of season. The change of energy. Spring is about positivity, transformation and new possibilites. We celebrate this together during an Ostara Ritual.

We start in the morning and welcome the new day together. After an introduction of the program and of each other, we start with a meditation to tune in to our dreams and desires of the seasons to come. After this we perform a Yoga Flow, to get the energy moving into our body. For the last part of the event, I introduce you to the magic of intentions and manifestations. With fun and creative writing exercises you will be sownig the seeds for our dreams. This whilst enjoying connecting with like minded people.

🎤 PODCAST EPISODE 3 - TO NOT WANT TO HAVE CHILDEREN 🎤

This is a conversation I had with my beautiful friend Savannah. A woman who has always been very clear about not having the desire to be a mother. Through out the years I have heard how she needs to explain herself, how it is possible to have dreams and desires of a life without kids. Because society measures us my the image they designed for us to live in. Not meeting, not wanting to meet these images, is something I am formiliar with. An exhausting and hurtfull scenario to live through time after time.

It resulted in a beautiful dialogue that can be refered to other subjects as well. Where two women talk about the lack of a desire for childeren and the desires and fears of missing out on being a mom.

Where our request is: think about the questions you ask. And if you want to ask them, be willing to listen to the answers. 💙

In March we have a wonderful retreat planned on the island. Where we meet other women to connect with themselves and each other. Me and my friend Lot combine our knowledge and experience to guide these beautiful women on their own journey. We use systemic work, experiential exercises, yoga, meditation and transformational cupping to give a complete experience.

💙This retreat will be organised the 6th until the 11th of March and will be performed in Dutch.

🎤PODCAST EPISODE 2 – WOMEN & ADHD/ADD 🎤

This second episode I had a conversation with Jana, a friend who lives with me on the island. Within personal conversations she told me, she got the diagnose of ADHD/ADD about a year ago. She was open about her journey and the emotions she felt now and all the years before. As she was a bit nervous to have this conversation on our podcast, I can only admire how she showed her vulnerability. There are so many feelings involved regarding this diagnose. So many misinterpretations. Jana brought it all together in our conversation, for everyone to understand.

Now I felt some recognition in the symptoms of ADHD/ADD years ago, but didn’t feel the need to continue with actions at the time. During my conversation with Jana, I recognised myself in more situations she described. Symptoms or habits I didn’t know where part of ADHD/ADD. I decided to get a test and got confirmed within my suspicion.
Now a couple of weeks later, listening to the podcast again for some final adjustments, this podcast hit me even harder. Jana her words are powerful and healing for those who have the diagnose, but also an insight to understand for people who don’t.

🍋Fittest version of myself - Part two - Nutrition 🍋

Now I am not the person who eats unhealthy. I would sooner eat too little than too much. But moving to Spain has thrown around my rhythm and products I consume.

I build this part little by little. January holds the first steps:
🍋 Drink more than 2.5 liter of water.
🍋 No alcohol until ???
🍋 Start Intermittent Fasting.
🍋 Take my supplements.
🍋 Have a grocery list. This way I have all the food I need, since I hate doing groceries.
