Atrophic gastritis
Occurs when parietal cells are damaged by antibodies. This is a genetic anomaly in which the number of cells decreases and the synthesis of hydrochloric acid decreases. Often, against the background of a decrease in local defenses, infection with Helicobacter pylori occurs. Inflammatory-degenerative process occurs in all parts of the stomach. With the eradication of bacteria, the pathological restructuring of cells and tissues slows down. Patients are concerned about the feeling of fullness, nausea, belching rotten, loss of appetite, feeling that the stomach is full.
With atrophic gastritis, the absorption of vitamin B12 is impaired, which leads to the appearance of symptoms of B12-deficiency anemia (includes not only anemic syndrome, but neurological symptoms).
