About Suzanne – Suaimhneas Natural Health

Welcome to Suaimhneas Natural Health! I’m Suzanne, the founder and heart behind this holistic wellness practice. Originally from the serene coastal village of County Kerry, Ireland, I’ve always found peace by the sea. My journey into health and wellness began 10 years ago with a 4-year BSc (Hons) in General Nursing. As a registered General Nurse, I’ve combined my medical knowledge with holistic practices to offer a unique approach to health. I’m now a licensed Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, having recently completed a 3-year Diploma in Acupuncture and TCM in Dublin, Ireland. My passion for holistic health led me to volunteer in Nepal for 3 months with an NGO, providing free primary care through acupuncture and TCM—a deeply enriching experience. In addition to my acupuncture practice, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in India. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach yoga in Kerala, India, and Sri Lanka, further solidifying my commitment to a holistic and integrative approach to health and wellbeing. At Suaimhneas Natural Health, I aim to support your body’s innate wisdom to self-heal through acupuncture, TCM, and yoga, fostering a sense of peace, calmness, and balance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about how these practices can benefit you.

We have one body, one home, one lifetime. May we continue to honor it with gratitude, compassion, and care.

I often close a yoga class with students transitioning out of Savasana back to the space, advising students to thank their body for getting them through their practice, their mind and breath for allowing them to move in a beautiful way ✨

How can you honour your body today?

✨ Your mind goes where energy flows ✨

One of the most beautiful parts of my training in was learning how to weave themes into classes, drawing from yoga philosophy and energetic anatomy.

Asana practice is so much more than moving the body; it’s an opportunity to share wisdom that deepens our awareness and connection to the yogic path.

Right now, I’m creating a class inspired by the element of space (Akasha) and the third eye chakra (Anna) an exploration of intuition, spaciousness, and inner vision. 💫

Themeing classes takes time and intention, but it’s what makes teaching (and practicing) so rich. A class becomes much more than movement, it allows for growth and learning.

✨ Yesterday evening I covered a gentle slow flow class for the wonderful at

Most of my teaching here in Ibiza is fiery dynamic, power vinyasa flows that move with the breath, usually in the mornings. So this class was a shift not only for the students, but for me too, an invitation to slow down.

I shared a little about Yin/Yang theory from Traditional Chinese Medicine at the beginning of the evening class:

☀️ Yang → our fire, linked with summer, the morning, heat, activity, and achieving goals.

🌙 Yin → our rest, connected to winter, the ocean, night time, and slowing down.

In modern life, Yang is often celebrated, the doing, the achieving. But our Yin side, the slowing down, is rarely acknowledged, even though it’s just as vital.

Our bodies are often stuck in a Yang state. Supporting Yin helps us return to balance.

Ways to nourish your Yin energy:

🌊 Swim in the sea, connect with the ocean.
🧘‍♀️ Practice slow or Yin yoga, moving mindfully and tuning in.
🕯 Evening meditation, soothing the nervous system into rest + digest.

A gentle reminder: slowing down is an achievement. 💙

Your spine is your body’s foundation, caring for it means caring for your whole self. ✨

🧘‍♀️ Yoga helps build strength, flexibility, and balance, creating space in the body and reducing tension that can pull on the spine. Gentle postures and mindful breathing encourage better posture and alignment over time.

🌿 Acupuncture works on a deeper energetic level, improving circulation, calming the nervous system, and releasing blockages that contribute to back discomfort. Many people find it helps reduce pain, restore mobility, and bring the body into balance.

Together, yoga and acupuncture create a powerful synergy for spinal health, supporting both structure and energy (Prana or Qi) to flow freely so you can move through life with more ease.

3 Simple Tips for a Healthy Spine at Home

1. Move often – take stretch breaks if you sit a lot.

2. Strengthen your core and stretch your hamstrings – your core is your spine’s best support system and avoiding tight hamstrings can ease pressure on the spine.

3. Sleep smart – use a supportive mattress + pillow alignment.

✨ Small daily habits lead to long-term spinal health! ✨

Your spine will thank you.

Yoga asana is a learning practice. ✨

Every time I step on the mat, I’m reminded that my physical asana practise is never ‘finished’!

This asana Firefly (Tittibhasana) may look like a display of strength or flexibility, but in the videos you will see it’s a lesson of trust, patience, persistence and humility. Reminding me why I show up again and again to the mat. Alsooo I am not in pain in the videos, just a muscle cramp after a strong asana practise before the videos 😅

Our bodies and minds are incredible when they work in unity. The more we listen to our bodies, the more we discover that progress isn’t about pushing harder, it’s about showing up and staying curious. With curiosity as one of my main values, this is another reason why asana practise keeps me coming back for more!

Here is why yoga allows you to be a student for life. ✨

About two weeks ago I was feeling quite drained, mentally and physically. This can be quite common when working seasonal jobs, especially mid season, when I worked in a ski resort in the French Alps for three winters this burnout was called ‘Mid Season Blues’!

At times like this I remind myself of these three pillars of health - sleep, movement and nutrition. I often find that modern lifestyle overcomplicates things, but getting these three parts of your daily life right can lead to huge positive changes in your health and wellbeing.

🥗 Nutrition ~ Fuel your body with real, nourishing food. Two weeks ago I decided to start batch cooking my meals again, this allows me to be prepared to eat well through the week when life is busy here. It only takes a few hours one day a week, but can help to stay on track fuelling your body with nutrients. Drinking plenty of water is also vital, especially when living in hotter climates.

🏃‍♀️ Movement ~ Keep your body in motion, every single day. I admit like many yoga teachers I do not practise asana every day, but any form of movement is better than none. I also remind myself constantly that to practise asana it does not have to be one hour or ninety minutes, whatever you can fit into your day works.

😴 Sleep ~ Rest deeply to recharge and repair. Personally I believe sleep is one of the most important factors for good health. Poor or short sleep can lead to lowered immune system, lack of mental clarity, low energy and many more body imbalances. Not only is sleep important, but also a good sleep routine. This is something I need to work on more, less screen time leading upto bedtime, time to wind down and prepare for bed in a mindful way.

When these three work together, your body thrives, your mind sharpens, and your energy increases.
These pillars are not extras, they’re the foundation.

How can you incorporate theses pillars of health into your daily life?
