Enjoying a lovely few days in the Pyrenees with my very gorgeous little boys! We’ve had a fabulous time… Even though we came here for cooler weather and still got 30° yesterday, we cannot complain!!! Not sure how many more trips we will have with my older pup Ty, who is 13+, but he’s doing well… I had to carry him down the hill on the way back for a few minutes, just to give him a little rest. Cherishing the moments that we have left together. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Just a reminder to you with doggies…
while you might enjoy going out for a walk in boiling hot temperatures, I wonder how you would feel if you were wearing a fur coat and had no shoes on the boiling hot pavements…

In hot weather, ideally keep them at home, or if you have to take them out keep them to the shaded sides of the street, take water with you always for them, and minimise the amount of time that they are in the Sun. If you love your dogs, then make sure you think about them on hot days… and remind other people, if they seem to have forgotten… It’s up to us to look after our furry friends 🥰 ❤️

Although, I’ve been working as a personal trainer for 16 years, I’m also a Sports Therapist… What does this mean? As a Sports Therapist, I am qualified to evaluate and diagnose injuries, specifically relating to the musculoskeletal system.
Isn’t that the same as a physiotherapist? Yes and No. There is a huge amount of crossover in the two professions. Physiotherapist have a broader scope of practice that includes things like neurological and respiratory issues.
Sports Therapist on the other hand specialise in musculoskeletal injuries; as a result of sport, exercise or general day-to-day movement. We have a strong focus on performance and injury prevention, and are better placed to help people to recover from such due to our advanced knowledge of biomechanics and the musculoskeletal system in general.. we are muscle and exercise prescription gurus 😎

I love my strength, but it’s really important to make sure that we also include mobility and flexibility work in our routines, to help keep muscles supple, and joints mobile. Using a foam roller can help to deactivate overactive muscles, and release tension… It’s always good to use these prior to a heavy workout, and at the end to aid in muscle recovery.. ❤️

Attention all dog owners!

If you love your pets, and want to keep them safe this summer, please remember the following…

1. Don’t leave dogs in warm cars… even 18° is too hot - anything over 20 can be deadly

2. Don’t run with your dogs when it’s hot… if it’s first thing in the morning. If it’s too hot for you to wear a coat, it’s too hot for them to run! If you’re not sure, put a coat on yourself and see how far you get..

3. If you have to take your dogs out when it’s hot, stay on the shaded side of the street..

4. Always, always, always have water for your dogs when it’s warm weather.

5. Think about their feet in the hot weather - when it’s boiling hot, the pavements get very hot… Try walking on it yourself - if you can manage it, okay, if it’s too hot for your tootsies, it’s too hot for your pets tootsies!

Thank you to those people who look after their pets, and put their well-being first, as for the rest of you, WAKE UP for the sake of your pets!

It is incomprehensible that some individuals need constant reminders of this fundamental concern. Imagine being confined in a hot vehicle with no means of escape or seeking help – it is a horrific prospect. If you truly love your pet, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution and prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being above all else! ❤️🐈‍⬛🙏🐕
