A lot of what I see about postpartum fitness I find deeply disturbing... so incase another postpartum mama needs to hear this...
🔥Don't let the constant barrage of on social media ...
Guilt you into feeling you need to do or be anything other than what you are intuitively doing to keep your baby happy and healthy, while holding on to your sanity and looking after YOU on very little sleep ...
Even if that means...
💫You don't manage or want to get on your mat today, or tomorrow or for the next week or month or whatever... TOTALLY LEGITIMATE!
💫You no longer feel fulfilled by striving for perfection in the primary series or chasing the illusive handstand press or whatever it is that drove you before... AWESOME!
!!! Your body is a miracle that literally gave life...you deserve to...
🙌 heal in your own time
🙌 not want to or need to return to 'pre-pregnancy' you... why should we when what we are now is so much more interesting and potent!!!
🙌 bare those scars and new shapes and curves with pride
🙌 redefine who you are and what you want on your own terms post-baby...
🙌 silence the critics, your inner-critic and protect your inner peace by all means possible!
!!! Legitimate choices instead of practicing yoga or doing other exercise:
🌼 Contact napping with baby in your arms
🌼 Finding that responding to all baby's comfort & physical needs doesn't allow for much uninterrupted practice
🌼 Exclusively breastfeeding making it hard to go to a yoga or exercise class or simply not wanting to be a part from baby
🌼 Sleeping, resting, eating, working, cleaning or doing whatever else calls you
🌼 Doing NOTHING as a choice
🌼Full in the blank -----
🌼 Practising only when, what and how long YOU feel is right for you and baby!!
