I LOVE nature and being connected to it is most calming for my nervous system, especially amongst the trees. For over 20 years I was the Regional Manager of an Organic & Natural Suncare co., with security, experience and flexibility within my role. So why?, does one ask, would I give it all up and decide to become a Health and Wellness Coach? For some years before, I kept hearing whispers that I must find my purpose. I wondered about and searched for this 'purpose' and then one day the voice inside me was no longer whispering but shouting that I was put on this earth to help women lead healthier and more fulfilled lives! I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN)* where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, holistic health, including foundational nutrition principles, nutrition science, and over 100 dietary theories, as well as personal development, goal-setting and much more. Another wonderful workshop with some fabulous people from Ireland and Slovakia.

One of the topics we covered was Types of Self-Care.

Physical Self-Care: Engaging in regular exercise, getting sufficient sleep, maintaining a balanced diet, and attending to physical health needs.

Emotional Self-Care: Practicing self-compassion, setting boundaries in relationships, expressing feelings through journaling or therapy, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.

Mental Self-Care: Stimulating the mind through learning new skills, engaging in creative hobbies, managing stress through relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing.

Spiritual Self-Care: Connecting with personal beliefs and values through prayer, meditation, nature walks, or engaging in spiritual practices that provide a sense of purpose and inner peace.

I love when we get to share many different ways in which we care for ourselves.
I even agreed to trying horse riding as a form of physical self-care 😃

A little look back at Day 2 of our Camino Sanabrés…

Rain, rain and more rain.
And somehow, it made it even more special.

We were completely soaked, but the beautiful landscapes, the quiet villages, the encouraging locals, and the enchanting forests kept us going. Not to mention the laughs we had trying to avoid the puddles ☺️

Moments like this remind me that the magic of the Camino is not about perfect weather. It’s about the journey, the people, and the memories you carry home.

We’re already so excited about our next Camino… and I cannot wait to share the details with you very soon 🤍✨

Feeling overstimulated is not a personality flaw. It is a nervous system response.

When you are constantly exposed to noise, screens, pressure, expectations, and emotional demands, your body shifts into stress mode. After a while, that can feel like anxiety, irritability, brain fog, tension, or sudden exhaustion.

This is not you failing. This is your body asking for safety.
Stress management is not about forcing yourself to calm down. It is about learning how to regulate your nervous system, reduce overload, and create space in your day so your body can breathe again.

Sometimes the most powerful reset looks like:

• lowering the lights
• putting your phone away
• taking five slow breaths
• saying no to one thing

Life can get overwhelming some times!
Each decade has it’s challenges…the 50’s are no exception!
Not only do we have to cope with the big M 😊 menopause if you didn’t already guess, but we also have the worry of our parents aging!
Throw in kids, work, outside pressures and pretty soon our own needs become secondary!

So here’s the thing (you probably already know) You have to prioritize your wellbeing:
Slow down
Learn how to breath, so you have the technique when you feel you need it!
Try & be present/ practice mindfulness
Move your body (any kind of movement is valid)
Eat foods that nourish you (we’re all different but whole foods are a good place to start)
Meet friends
Have that glass of wine
Prioritize sleep
& cut out as much noise as you can (sometimes that can even mean people)

Believing in yourself is not a one time decision. It is daily inner work.

Building self confidence, self trust, and a strong mindset takes consistency, especially on the days when doubt is loud and motivation feels low. Personal growth is not about feeling inspired all the time. It is about choosing self belief even when results are slow and no one is clapping for you.

Your mindset is your full time commitment. No days off from backing yourself.

If you are working on your confidence and self worth, keep going. This is the real work of self development and self love.
