It's Julian here.
Two years ago Kath and I set up https://www.treatingchildren.com as a website to host my video tutorials and share information to help give you confidence to start treating babies and children in your acupuncture practice.
I feel very sad that more people don't feel they have the skills to treat children. It is so rewarding - such as the time when the mother of an autistic child said "I felt had lost my child and now I have got him back".
Acupuncture can be profoundly effective and you can make a real difference for the lives of the whole family.

There are many things which you can learn from a book but in these I show you what you can't learn from a book. There are video demonstrations and really practical advice - not just the theory, what you can expect from treatment, will the treatment work, if not, why not and so on.

The great advantage of treating when young is, it's easy, you can have very quick results. In a few treatments you can change the course of a person's life.
It is nearly 45 years since I treated my first child with needles, and it was as traumatic for me as it was for the child! From then on it was difficult, as I had to learn Chinese to read the text books, and I had no one to guide me. My mission in life has been to make it easy for others to follow and in time to to go further. So I can truly say that the online courses are all based on my experiences and mistakes I've made and things I have learned along the way. They are an extension of my textbook "Acupuncture in the Treatment of Children" which I wrote in 1982 and updated the 4th edition in 2018

Even if you're not interested in having snotty-nosed grubby kids come into your nice tidy acupuncture practice, what you will find is that by studying what happens in childhood, you have a much greater insight into you ADULT patients. You see, it's likely what they are coming to you now for is something that could have been and wasn't dealt with when they were a child. So by taking a class it will open your eyes to see and assess your current patients differently.

CEU / CPD / PDA Certificate:
You will get a Certificate of Completion for your CPD / PDA / CEUs depending on where you are - but you will need to pass a test first.
If you feel like you have a calling and have always dreamed of working with children, you may be interested in our longer three-part series starting with Level 1 Foundations, then Level 2 Chronic Conditions followed by Level 3 Advanced. This is the equivalent of the Diploma in Paediatrics so it is very thorough covering a range of acute and chronic / complex conditions.
