Grassroots Yoga and Meditation

Grassroots Yoga and Meditation It’s our aim to share with you the fundamental practices of Traditional Yoga that includes breathwork and meditation. Constant mind chatter. Poor sleep.

It is an integral system based on ancient yoga philosophy, incorporating modern day principals. When you’re constantly balancing the demands of a stressful career with a busy home life, it’s not uncommon to be experiencing overwhelm. And generally feeling disconnected. We teach you simple practices you can include in your daily life to build your resilience and still your mind. So you feel calm. Connected. Happy living a balanced life. Yoga as a practice beyond the yoga mat. It is a lifestyle that looks at the whole individual. From movement to diet, to sleep to mental wellbeing. There are practices that stretch and strengthen you physically. But importantly, still your mind and emotions. Classes are taught in English, Spanish or Catalan. ONLINE and in the province of Tarragona.

One thing I’m not doing is rushing into what I am or am not taking with me into 2026.

Honestly, it’s taken a couple of weeks over the holidays for my headspace to clear. Time to slow down, make some space, and gently look back before looking ahead. I’ve been returning to a few familiar tools and practices, the ones that help me listen more closely.

I’ve been reflecting on what I’m grateful for from 2025. My resilience. Staying grounded most of the time. And being honest about the fact that it hasn’t always been easy. When I was first asked to give the year a word, nothing came straight away.

Looking forward, I’m asking what do I want to carry with me? Where do I want to place my energy?

My word for 2026 is courage. Not rushing - but gently moving forward again.

If you pause for a moment, what word feels like it might be coming forward for you in 2026. No pressure to know straight away.

I wanted to pull together one of those photo dumps you often see on here - a small snapshot of the year that’s been.

Sunrise and sunsets, beach walks, and the changing seasons took up a lot of my photo library again this year. They’re the places and moments that keep me connected and grounded.

Alongside that, the connections have mattered just as much. Time with sangha, friendships, shared moments, conversations, and simply being together.

Shiva, our cat, came into our lives this summer. One day he followed Ram home, and the next he was part of our family - even though he remains so independent!

Deeply grateful for all of it. Thank you for being here, to our dear friends near and far.

I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed today, and instead of trying to hide it or ‘pushing’ through, I’m naming it.

Some days feel a little heavier than others and we don’t have to have it all sorted out.

The first thing is to notice. I feel my energy is a little scattered. So I chose the sea to help bring me back to myself. – even if it was for a moment.

Apparently, we’re in a Mercury retrograde (which I didn’t realise!), and maybe that’s part of why I’ve needed a pause and take a few deeper breaths this morning.

Or maybe it’s simply life being life. Either way, I’m listening.

If you’re feeling a little Vata-ish or unsettled today too, what can you do to soften it?

When Yoga became regular in my life, I discovered something I didn’t even know I was missing: a place of no distractions.

It’s in these classes where, in meditation I started connecting with myself on a deeper level, where I began to hear that little voice - you know the one that starts as a whisper, but gets louder if you don’t pay attention!

I needed to make changes, and it’s where I found the strength and clarity to make them.

Now when I hear that little voice saying something needs to shift, I don’t ignore it or wait until it’s shouting at me. I listen in.

You can only do that when you create space.

Happy Guru Poornima!

To hear or think of the word ‘Guru’ can evoke many different feelings. But Guru Poornima is a very special, auspicious day. For Ram and me, it signifies a day to acknowledge all the different teachers we have encountered in our lives. From our parents. Friends. And our spiritual teachers.

Anyone in life who has switched on a light within us. Of curiosity, of awareness, of inspiration.

Then there is the Guru Tattwa, the inner Guru. The light that shines from within. The one who silently guides us through life.

Hari Om Tat Sat.

📌 You might want to save this post. Yoga Nidra is the one practice I return to again and again. It’s also a practice I recommend to everyone!

Evoking deep relaxation is just one of the many benefits Yoga Nidra gifts you.

This is because, during the practice, your body and mind enter a state of conscious sleep whilst remaining awake and aware.

It’s here that your energy reserves are replenished. You could say, it’s like the perfect rest break!

The relaxation response you experience through Yoga Nidra brings a sense of peace and calmness to your body and mind.

All our students love it. In fact, one of my students messaged me this week and said... “ I’ve always played a lot of sports so I was fine on a physical level, but found the last 20 minutes or so of your class soooo relaxing.”

I think everyone should have a recording of Yoga Nidra in their self-care toolbox.

That’s why we’re gifting you a FREE 20-minute version the full practice – you can access the link in our BIO – or type Yoga Nidra in the comments and I’ll send you the link.

It’s available in English or Spanish.

Awareness makes your world come alive.

Everyday experiences are transformed - colours are more vibrant, the sounds of the birds singing, the waves crashing into the shoreline are more noticeable.

This state of awareness connects you back to Self, the one beneath the social mask and the learned behaviours.

I talk more about this subject in my new blog, you can read it when you click the link below.
