I’m not surfing anymore…

I can’t count the number of times I’ve said this 😅
Some days I just FAIL. It’s so tough and bloody hard work. Not to mention the struggle of putting on a wetsuit.

Yesterday was one of the days I was just refusing to go in because I knew I’d fail again. I was literally forced and dragged into the ocean (like a dog on a leash when it refuses to move and drags it’s bum across the floor 😅)

I came up with all the excuses, I’m tired etc. but Max pushes me because he knows how capable I am.

So anyway… I surfed. And I was AMAZING. I had such a good time, I learnt some new skills and didn’t want to stop. If I’m being honest, I am pretty good. I’m not a professional but I’m levels above the beginners, I paddle out and I catch the green waves. I just doubt myself A LOT. The ocean is a scary place to be - especially when you’ve been slammed.

Most of the time it’s my fear zone - The one just after the comfort zone. Where you’re lacking self confidence and find excuses about how you’re not able to do something which is all down to limiting beliefs ALL IN MY HEAD. And all due to a past experience of a double slam and not reaching the surface for a good 10 seconds. (Max said it was 5 but it definitely wasn’t 😅)

To reach the fear zone and evolve successfully, you must see failure as a stepping stone. And what comes after? The learning zone - dealing with challenges and acquiring new skills.

So yesterday, I reached learning zone and surpassed it way into my growth zone.

Would I have grown yesterday by sitting on the beach and watching because I’m too scared to go in? NO.

Would I still be in fear zone thinking I’m incapable of being a surfer? YES.

Point to this story? FEAR and negative past experience is the only thing holding us back, but once we push ourselves and understand we are capable of anything… that’s when the magic happens. 💫🏄‍♀️
