Everything happens for a reason.

Some people come into your life with purpose, even if they are not meant to stay forever. And that’s okay. Not every connection is meant to last, but every one of them leaves something behind, something that shapes you, teaches you, and helps you grow.

Life has its own way of aligning things. What is meant for you will find you. The people who truly belong in your life, the ones who care for you, support you, and stand beside you, will remain, effortlessly. You don’t have to force anything. What is real never needs to be forced.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many people. Many have been part of my journey, some for a moment, some for years, and some still walking beside me today. And for each one of you, I feel gratitude. Thank you for the lessons, for the memories, for the shared moments, and for the beautiful days.

CAVES TECHNIQUE - DEEP PLANE FACELIFT

The deep plane facelift remains a gold standard in facial rejuvenation; however, optimizing surgical efficiency while ensuring maximal nerve safety continues to be a critical objective. In 2023, we introduced the Caves maneuver as a technical refinement to improve dissection in deep plane facelift and neck lift procedures. After 18 months since submission, we are pleased to report the successful publication of our study describing this approach in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery.

In a prospective cohort of 123 patients, implementation of the Caves maneuver resulted in a significant reduction in dissection time (9.5 vs. 23 minutes) and a markedly lower incidence of marginal mandibular nerve paresis (1.5% vs. 11.6%). Additionally, the technique was associated with an overall decrease in complication rates, with no reported infections.

These findings suggest that the Caves maneuver represents a safe and effective technical refinement, enhancing operative efficiency while preserving, and potentially improving, nerve safety and overall clinical outcomes.

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Sharing knowledge with colleagues from different specialties is one of the fundamental ethical pillars of medicine. Historically, physicians have taught one another with generosity, dedication, and a genuine commitment to advancing patient care. Today, it is disappointing to see instances where some professionals discourage or even refuse colleagues from other specialties to learn and collaborate. Medicine, by its very nature, is built on ethics, openness, and the responsibility to share knowledge.

I have made it a priority to open my clinic to professionals from multiple specialties, including plastic surgery, ENT, oculoplastic surgery, and maxillofacial surgery, inviting them to observe live procedures. I have also welcomed dermatologists and aesthetic medicine practitioners, helping them deepen their anatomical understanding through surgical exposure and apply this knowledge in a safer and more effective way in their own practice.

✅ I have never favored one specialty over another, as I firmly believe that knowledge should be shared universally, grounded in ethical principles and professional integrity, serving one common goal: achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.

📚Neuro-Ophthalmic Guide in Vascular Oclusion induced by filler. Our article on filler-induced ophthalmic vascular occlusion (FIVO) highlights the mechanisms, classification, and management of this rare but devastating complication, emphasizing the critical role of rapid recognition and early hyaluronidase intervention. Through a systematic review of the literature and expert recommendations, we analyze current evidence to improve preparedness and patient safety. Thanks to all my colleagues who co-authored this investigation.
