Voluntary Call for World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day 2024 (WSBHD-2024)
Roadside Awareness Campaign
Dear Volunteers,
As we prepare to mark World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day (WSBHD) on November 07, 2024, HOPE-SBH, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is organizing a Roadside Awareness Campaign to raise awareness about Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
We invite you to join us in this important initiative aimed at educating the public and fostering inclusivity for children and individuals living with these conditions.
Campaign Details:
• Dates: October 28, 2024 – November 07, 2024
• Location: Six high-traffic areas in Addis Ababa
• Objective: To increase public understanding of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, sensitize on early detection, treatment, and inclusive education, and promote the rights of individuals with disabilities.
Why Volunteer?
By participating, you will help make a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families affected by these conditions. You will also be contributing to a greater cause by supporting our mission to raise awareness to prevent occurrence of neural tube defects, mobilize supports and break stigmas surrounding disabilities.
Volunteer Benefits:
• Certificates: We will provide certificates with the official logo and stamp of both HOPE-SBH and the Ministry of Health to those who meet the minimum service hours set by the Ministry of Health (it is still on discussion)
• All participants will also receive a certificate of recognition from HOPE-SBH.
• Priority Selection: Priority will be given to those who volunteered in last year's Roadside Awareness Campaign, in recognition of their dedication and support.
How to Apply:
If you are passionate about making a difference, please fill out the volunteer application form via this link: https://forms.gle/onhzz2P4f5Qt7GA29. Be sure to indicate your availability, residence location and any previous experience.
