This week, the NMC team celebrated our Christmas party in style! We enjoyed a great evening filled with delicious food, exciting games, lively dancing, and amazing prizes. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined in the fun!

Today marks a special occasion for some of our staff members as it has been 10 years since they joined NMC. They were the first employees of the organization and have been instrumental in both the development of NMC and the running of the facility. We are very grateful for their service and that they have stayed with NMC for all these years.

We were thrilled to have Keith Boyd from Rainbow Leaders, a South African organization dedicated to enhancing youth engagement in the democratic process, visit NMC. On July 27th last year, Keith embarked on an extraordinary journey, running from Cape Town to Cairo, and break the world record. Who We Are

The Nordic Medical Centre (NMC) is Norwegian run and staffed by highly experienced international and Ethiopian medical professionals. We deliver high-quality medical services 24/7 and are the preferred medical provider for a number of international organisations, embassies and health insurance companies.

NMC offers emergency and critical care medical services throughout Ethiopia. Conveniently located in the heart of Addis Ababa, we also provide family medicine services. Our comprehensive care for everyone in the family includes paediatric and adult services, physiotherapy, medical check-ups, pharmacy services, along with diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.

In response to a request by the diplomatic community in Ethiopia, NMC was founded in 2012. In late 2015, NMC opened its doors and started serving patients. In September 2017 NMC opened its expansion building which includes ICU and Operating Theatres.

OUR MISSION & HOW WE CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY

Nordic Medical Centre’s overarching objective is to contribute to health and wellbeing by providing high level care to all patients through integrated clinical practice and health education. To deliver this high level of care, a self-sustaining specialised medical centre was established with a particular focus on family and internal medicine, emergency care and surgical treatment.

Additionally, NMC is an organisation that seeks to make a positive health impact beyond the walls of the facility. Proceeds from the medical services provided at NMC will be used to make critical healthcare accessible to poor people and to strengthen the pool of human resources for health in Ethiopia by actively supporting higher medical education.

To date, NMC has financially and academically supported the education of two classes of intensive care nurses and operation theatre nurses at Saint Paul Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa.

CORPORATE STRUCTURE & MANAGEMENT

The Nordic Medical Centre is managed by a multi-national team of highly experienced medical professionals and administrators. NMC is the Ethiopian arm of Nordic Clinic AS (the Norwegian equivalent of a PLC), which was founded in Norway in 2012. All shares of the company are owned by the Nordic Clinic Foundation in Norway.
