is on its knees, facing a deepening humanitarian crisis. The scale of suffering caused by this brutal calamity is immense.

πŸš› Access to basic supplies and services is severely halted by insecurity and the lack of resources. No aid is currently getting into the Gaza Strip as border crossings are closed. Around 3,000 tons of goods are waiting in trucks in Egypt. Safe and unobstructed entry must be granted imminently.

βœ‹ An immediate humanitarian ceasefire is an absolute priority to allow for the delivery of life-saving assistance and urgently needed relief items like water, food, fuel and medicines. Without it, and without significant funding, the reach of operations will remain limited.

❌ Civilians and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and places of worship, are and must be protected at all times. The protection of humanitarian workers and assets must also be guaranteed.

actually marks the ratification of the first international health treaty. The World Health Organization (WHO) Constitution was ratified by the minimum 26 Member States needed to bring it into force. The 26th State ratified it on 7 April 1948. The Date then was used for Health Assemblies.

It is was very rare to have Countries agree on an international health treaty in the past. Health is always considered a sovereign matter.

The WHO Framework Convention on To***co Control 2013 was the second health treaty. It took over 30 years to agree.

The has shown us we need global solidarity in health and no one is safe until everyone is safe.

We have two new treaty ideas on the table:

The Pandemic Preparedness Treaty and the Framework Convention on Global Health. How quickly will these be ratified.

The main goal of a new international treaty for pandemic preparedness and response would be to foster a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to strengthen national, regional and global capacities and resilience to future pandemics.

With drought killing their livestock, many Somali Region Communities have no other source of food or income.

More than 80% of the population of Somali Region in Ethiopia depends on livestock farming. Over many animals have died in the region as a result of the drought. As well as many people are suffering due to lack of water and food.

Therefore to save the lives of these people and their livestock need urgent action of support.
