ESOG President Elected AFOG Vice President! 🇪🇹✨

The President of the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG), Dr. Hailemariam Segni Abawollo was elected today as Vice President of the African Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AFOG) for the 2026-2029 term, securing a resounding 66.7% in the first round of the virtual executive board election.

The full AFOG Executive Board for 2026-2029 includes President Dr. Sami Mahamoud from Sudan, who takes office now; President Elect Prof. TEGUETE Ibrahima from Mali, starting in 2029; Secretary General Dr. Victor Mivumbi Ndicunguye from Rwanda; Vice Secretary General Prof. Ahmed Fawzy Galal from Egypt; Treasurer Prof. TRAORE Youssouf from Mali; and Vice Treasurer Dr. ABHE GNANGORAN Laurence Eliane Chakoun from Côte d'Ivoire. Elections were held virtually on March 9, 2026, featuring many unopposed victories and strong majorities.
