ReaScan+ point-of-care testing shows potential to improve diagnosis of neuroborreliosis in children with peripheral facial palsy

A recent diagnostic accuracy study by Bloch et al. evaluated the ReaScan+ Lyme IgM/IgG point-of-care test in children with peripheral facial palsy. The study found good diagnostic accuracy, with results comparable to conventional laboratory serology. Importantly, the test provided results in around 30 minutes, supporting faster clinical decision-making.

When a child presents with peripheral facial palsy, faster diagnostic test result may help clinicians assess the likelihood of neuroborreliosis faster, support treatment decisions, and improve overall management of these patients.

While point-of-care testing does not replace clinical judgement or established diagnostic work-up, studies like this increase the growing evidence that rapid testing can support more efficient and responsive care pathways.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Although the incidence is highest among people over 50 years of age, it is rising among younger adults.

Early detection of plays a crucial role – it supports prevention, enables timely treatment, and significantly increases the chance of survival. Regular screenings are an effective way to detect colorectal cancer early.

Faecal immunochemical testing ( ) is an effective tool for both screening and symptomatic assessments. Quantitative FIT tests, such as the QuikRead go iFOBT, detect haemoglobin originating from occult blood in stool samples when there is excess bleeding from the lower gastrointestinal tract. A faecal occult blood result helps triage patients for further examination, such as colonoscopy. 🩺

Early detection plays a crucial role – it supports prevention, enables timely treatment, and significantly increases the chance of survival. Regular screenings are an effective way to detect colorectal cancer early.

Faecal immunochemical tests ( ), such as QuikRead go iFOBT, offer a simple method to detect excess bleeding from the lower gastrointestinal tract and to help identify those who may need further examination. 🩺 The test can be used in routine physical examinations and in screening programmes for colorectal cancer.

Aidian appoints Torben Nielsen as its new CEO

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Torben Nielsen as the new CEO of Aidian. Torben Nielsen, currently CEO and Group President of Boule Diagnostics, will start in his new position no later than June 2026. Torben is highly experienced in the healthcare, diagnostics, and medical technology field, having held senior executive roles at Radiometer, Envista Holdings, and Boule Diagnostics. We are excited to welcome Torben to Aidian as he takes on the responsibility of leading our company forward and supporting our continued growth.
