Join us in raising awareness for Colorectal Cancer 🎗️🌍

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide. Although the risk of increases with age, incidence has also been rising among younger adults.

Early detection plays a crucial role – it supports prevention, enables timely treatment, and significantly increases the chance of survival. Regular screenings are an effective way to detect colorectal cancer early.

Faecal immunochemical tests ( ), such as QuikRead go iFOBT, offer a simple method to detect excess bleeding from the lower gastrointestinal tract and to help identify those who may need further examination. 🩺 The test can be used in routine physical examinations and in screening programmes for colorectal cancer.

Aidian appoints Torben Nielsen as its new CEO

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Torben Nielsen as the new CEO of Aidian. Torben Nielsen, currently CEO and Group President of Boule Diagnostics, will start in his new position no later than June 2026. Torben is highly experienced in the healthcare, diagnostics, and medical technology field, having held senior executive roles at Radiometer, Envista Holdings, and Boule Diagnostics. We are excited to welcome Torben to Aidian as he takes on the responsibility of leading our company forward and supporting our continued growth.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria pose a growing worldwide threat. According to WHO’s Global Antibiotic Resistance Surveillance Report 2025, approximately 1 in 6 laboratory-confirmed bacterial infections worldwide in 2023 were caused by bacteria resistant to antibiotics. The report also indicates that, for urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by E. coli and K. pneumoniae, resistance to commonly prescribed antibiotics generally exceeded 30% worldwide.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria: a growing worldwide threat

Antimicrobial resistance ( ), also known as the , is one of the top global public health and development threats. According to a recently published report by the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2023 approximately 1 in 6 laboratory-confirmed bacterial infections worldwide were caused by bacteria resistant to antibiotics.

In healthcare, optimising antibiotic use is critical to prevent further development of AMR: decreasing antibiotic overuse and providing antibiotics to those patients who benefit from the treatment.

C-reactive protein ( ) point-of-care testing ( ) is considered as a key player in healthcare to guide rational use of antibiotics and prevent the development of . CRP POCT has several benefits in management of patients with respiratory tract infections in primary care:
