This Spring 2022 Helping Hand will meet both virtually each Tuesday evening and in-person on Thursdays. To ensure that our open sessions are inclusive and accessible to all ARTS students, we apply a 'Virtual Safer Space Guideline' that we kindly ask everyone to follow when joining our meetings:1.) No discriminative language or behaviour (based on one’s gender identity, age, appearance, language, cultural background, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief system, state of health, functional ability, sexual orientation) is allowed. Improper behaviour will be addressed and may result in removal from the meeting.2.) Refrain from making assumptions on other participants’ identities, backgrounds, states, experiences, beliefs etc. Respect other participants’ emotional boundaries and be mindful of the effects your words and actions can have (regardless of your intent).4.) If you need a break or prefer to leave the meeting, please feel free to do so at any point.5.) If you prefer to discuss something one-on-one with the facilitator or any of the participants, ask for a private meeting in person or in our virtual meetings - a breakout room directly or in the chat box (as a personal message). 6.) If you wish to share experiences whose details may be triggering to others, please begin with a trigger warning. 7.) Know that making mistakes is human, and therefore unavoidable. Let’s aim to guide each other, discuss and be open to others’ perspectives.8.) If you feel unsafe or experience/witness any violations, please let the facilitator know either at the meeting (by speaking up or sending a personal message via the chat box) or afterwards.
