Kuunkatselujuhla on Japanilainen syysperinne, jossa ihaillaan täysikuuta. Järjestämme kuunkatselun Jollaksen Ekoateljeessa. Juhlassa näyttämö on vapaa pienimuotoisille esityksille: saa soittaa, tanssia, lausua runoja, mitä vain. Tarjolla on teetä ja kuu-kakkuja. Tarjolle saa halutesaan tuoda muutakin syötävää ja juotavaa. SILENCE

is what we do in retreat. We often use words and communication to 'create' a feeling of togetherness.
In retreat we cut off the surface layer of social in*******se.

Only by first keeping the 'rules' of silence, can we get in touch with the silence that comes from within.

That silence is in the drinking of tea, but also in the sound of an alarm clock. It makes us realize the underlying togetherness of all existence, where no words need to be added. Togetherness where no-one is an outsider, alone.

Even if we have created conflict, even if we loose someone, we can never loose the togetherness.

Thank you to the participants of the Light Retreat as well as to the hosts of Villa Selkola. It was a pleasure.🙏🏼

IKI ZEN, KEVYT RETRIITTI 4.-7.9.

Iki Zen ry:n Kevyt Zen Retriitti järjestetään upeassa Selkolan kartanossa syyskuun 4.–7. päivä. Selkolan kartano sijaitsee Selkojärven rannalla Iitissä, 7km päässä Uusikylän juna-asemalta. Helsingistä ajomatkaa on reilu tunti.

Kevyt Retriitti on hyvä alku zen harjoitukselle -ja zenissä olemme aina vasta-alkajia! 😊
Retriitillä lähestymme Zen-harjoitusta kokonaisvaltaisesti, istuma-ja kävelymeditaation, ääniharjoitusten, kehotietoisuusharjoitusten, yksinkertaisen teeseremonian ja vuoropuhelun kautta. Luonnonkauniit puitteet antavat rauhoittavan elementin läsnäoloomme.

Retriitti vietetään pääosin hiljaisuudessa, m***a teeseremonian yhteydessä on noin tunnin mittainen aiheeseen liittyvä keskusteluhetki, minkä lisäksi iltazazenin aikana on mahdollista saada henkilökohtaista ohjausta.

Retriitti kestää torstai-illasta sunnuntain lounaaseen. Sen hinta on 260€, jäsenille 200€.

THERE ARE NO 'OTHERS'

A six-day sesshin is behind. Thank you to the wonderful participants for your great effort. And thank you Lammi Retreat Centre for amazing sesshin facilities.

A quote from Roshi Sama:
"Lost in your own troubles, me-me-me, it was easy to overlook others, but the deep suffering or the unbearable worries of another restored your original mind. The troubles of another can pull you out of your preoccupation with self. Good. That spirit is exactly the spirit of true life. The duty of our life. And what is that? To see there is no other. There was never such a thing as “other” people."

This quote shows us the process we must go through on our path. The process unfolds through many lifetimes of consistent, determined practice. In this work, we cannot skip a single step. It is impossible. You just have to be honest with yourself.

MOVING OUT WITH GREAT GRATITUDE

Ikian Zen Hermitage has now moved away from Kalkkiranta, where we stayed for three and half years. We at the Iki Zen association are very grateful for this time that brought together so many wonderful people. Together we could enjoy the clear refreshing spring of Dharma. Especially our gratitude goes to the house owner Eva Byman who so generously offered the premises for our work.

We will cherish this time in our hearts as we move on, step by step to create a new practice place. In the meanwhile we keep sitting at Meditaatiokellari and organising retreats at other places.

Let us maintain the Way for the benefit of all beings.

MAY SESSHIN IS BEHIND
Thank you everyone for the good work!🙏🏼

Receiving everything.
Breath by breath the receiving becomes more intimate. Yes, we must confront what we don't like to look at. It is difficult, but the lack of confrontation with ourselves deepens our ignorance.

Only with courage and patience will we be able to meet the one we have always been longing to meet. The world of the peaceful heart is always open. Every sesshin is a step closer to it.

So stay with it. Don't accept or reject. Don't talk about struggles or progress. Just receive everything.
Sesshin works in mysterious ways.

REGISTER FOR AUGUST SESSHIN

August is harvest time. Are we really receiving the ripe fruit of life? The sesshin serves us to receive everything, to open up to the basic goodness of our life.

This six-day silent Zen retreat is held at Lammi Retreat Centre ( https://lammiretreat.com/ ). It is led by Genpo Pluta Sensei, a Dharma heir of Harada Tangen Roshi Sama.

Genpo Sensei recently finished a 6-day sesshin in Poland, where he leads sesshins twice a year. The sesshin was held at the Drophan Ling Tibetan centre.
