Kelpo Keho - Etiopatia ja Urheiluhieronta Tavoitteeni KelpoKeholla on selvittää ensin vaivojen syyt ja sitten hoitaa niitä.

- 75min (ensikaynti) ja 60min (jatkokaynti) -combo 130€
- 3 x 60min 180€

Muutoksen huomaa yleensä jo heti ensimmäisen
tapaamisen jälkeen, toisaalta jotkin tapaukset voivat
vaatia jopa 3-4 vastaanottokertaa ennen kuin
merkittäviä muutoksia saadaan aikaan.

“Hey Johan, what do YOU do when you experience “X” pain?”
I almost always feel awkward and surprised when patients ask me this question because I feel that my answer might disappoint them
“Not much”
By now, I have a made a conscious decision that it is part of my life and that although I will never ignore this pain or that injury, I won’t let it drive the bus
I know my body is robust, I know the natural history of different injuries, I know I have to take a step back and see what happened before the injury (or pain), I know that I can “scale” my training so that the capacity of my tissues won’t suffer much
Here is a question for you: “what do YOU do when you have “X” pain or are injured?”

REST
Another question I get from patients is the amount and duration of rest they should take following an injury (from minor to post surgery injury)
While this is highly individual, my approach has been the same for the last decade or so: rest is not necessarily the best as your tissue capacity will decrease with the symptoms (ie. pain, loss of range of motion, etc…)
It is recommended for recovery and part of the training routine but one shouldn’t expect a full recovery with rest only
Keeping active will also reduce the risk of re-injury and the very common trap of doing “too fast, too much, too soon” when getting back to the activity we cherish

What is Etiopathy?
Probably the first question I get asked and that is why I decided to use this word: it triggers some kind of interest
I do two things at : (sports)massage and Etiopathy. The first treatment is self explanatory but the second hails back to my country of birth and means “the cause of the suffering”
I am not an osteopath, physiotherapist, chiropractor, bone setter or naprapath. There is not a significant difference between these forms of physical therapy and what I do but I am an etiopath
I try to treat the issue at the source, sometimes treating the symptoms but more often not. I try to empower my patients with understanding and knowledge of their issue so that I’m only a facilitator. I help make sense of their pain and get back to the activity they so cherish

Right then, this month will be about the most common questions I am asked at the clinic
One that keeps on coming pretty regularly is the main body part I like to work with
While I understand where this is coming from and see why someone would have a “favourite limb” doesn’t really compute with the work I want to do with my patients
People come to the clinic mainly for pain and because they had to take a break from their favourite activity or they were told they cannot practice their sport anymore
I cannot for certainty claim that I will personally resolve all of the issues that a patient presents to me; that would be arrogant and foolish of me
I can assure you however that I will put all my energy and knowledge to help you get back on track and back to that activity
As it’s been said many times famously: “challenge accepted”

Bonne année 2023
2022 has been a hell of ride (once again) and this picture represents how I feel about it
After the training camp, Arslan Khataev] .morovati and went to Yerevan, Armenia for the world boxing championships and I came along for the ride
couldn’t make it but I leant so much while on the side of the ring in Assisi, Italy watching the mastermind at work
I hope the state of amateur boxing sees better days and I’m thrilled to witness what’s to come for Arslan Khataev] on his new venture in the noble art
Thank you everyone for the experience on these trips and thank you everyone for the trust when you come to the clinic
More exciting things coming for me (and the people I work with) in 2023, stay tuned, you won’t be disappointed
I wish you and your loved one health and happiness for the year to come
