Hyvää Maailman luontopäivää 3.3. 💚🌲
Sointumetsä on monimuotoinen, nykyään villinä kasvava metsäsaareke talousmetsänä toimivien metsätilojen välissä Keminmaan Kivaloilla.
🌲Sointumetsän alueella on useita erilaisia metsäalueita. Polun alussa molemmin puolin on suuria naavapartaisia kuusia, herkullisia mustikkamättäitä ja muutama suuri mänty. Hetken päästä oikealla avautuu pieni suo/ kosteikkoalue tyrmäävän tuoksuisine suopursuineen ja supermarjana tunnettuine juolukoineen.
🐸Ylemmäksi kävellessä polun varrella on kaunis koivikko, varjoisa ja kostea nokkosniitty sekä alkukesästä ilmestyvä aurinkoinen sammakkolampi. Hieman ennen Sointumetsän nuotiopaikkoja, polun varrella on suuria kuusia, joiden alla kasvaa herkkää metsäistä aluskasvillisuutta.
🌼Sointumetsän laavun alueelta avautuu alkukesästä upea kielomeri, joka jatkuu ylemmäksi rinteeseen. Kielojen jälkeen maasto muuttuu pikkuhiljaa kivirakaksi. Kiviä peittävät upean vihreät sammaleet, jäkälät ja useat erilaiset pikkuiset kukkivat kasvit. Siellä täällä pienikasvuiset koivut, männyt ja kuuset kasvavat kivien lomassa. Vaaran päälle noustessa puusto harvenee edelleen ja vaaran laelta löytyykin vain muutama ikimänty ja yksi sitkeä, pieni pihlaja.

Soundforest is a diverse, now wild forest island located between production forests in Kivalo, Keminmaa.
🌲There are several different types of forest areas in the Soundforest area. At the beginning of the trail, there are large spruce trees with lichens, delicious blueberry tussocks, and a few large pine trees on both sides. After a while, a small swamp/wetland area opens up on the right, with its stunningly fragrant marsh tea and bog bilberries that are known as superberry.
🐸Further up the trail, there is a beautiful birch grove, a shady and moist nettle meadow, and a sunny frog pond that appears in early summer. Just before the Sointumetsä campfire sites, there are large spruce trees along the trail, under which delicate forest undergrowth grows.
🌼In early summer, a magnificent sea of lilies of the valley opens up from the Sointumetsä lean-to area and continues up the slope. After the lilies of the valley, the terrain gradually changes to rocky ground. The rocks are covered with magnificent green mosses, lichens, and various small flowering plants. Here and there, small birches, pines, and spruces grow among the rocks. As you climb the hill, the trees become sparser, and at the top of the hill there are only a few evergreen pines and one tenacious little rowan tree.
