Great post from .physiotherapy 👏 ‘sitting’ isn’t the issue - the problems come when you spend the vast majority of your day in a single static position 🤷♂️ get on the ground and mix it up!

Sitting shouldn’t just be confined to chairs and couches ✔️
Sitting is something we all must do on a daily basis. Sitting isn’t bad, but the dose and variety should be considered.
Ie. sitting at the same office chair for 8-10 hours a day, and then on the same couch for another 1-2 hours a day...this is not ideal.
🔑 Change it up. Sitting comes in many forms. Adding variety to your sitting positions and changing them throughout the day is great for your mobility and helps combat the aches and pains that develop from being in a a single position too long.
➡️ Use the ground:
Sitting on the floor offers much more variety compared to sitting in a chair. It also allows you to change positions regularly.
➡️ Get a yoga/meditation cushion to sit on:
This is another option to make ground sitting more comfortable as you are working on developing floor sitting.
➡️ Use your squat position:
The squat is another great rest position that can be used while working for shorter periods. This requires patience and consistency to develop, but it is worth it!
🔑 Variety is important when it comes to sitting positions and your work/home environment.
🔑 Start to slowly spend some time in other sitting positions throughout your day, and see how you feel!
