Introduktionskurs på Korpo!

- Vad är mindfulness? En tydlig förklaring av kärnkonceptet.
- Stresshantering och återhämtning: konkreta strategier för att hantera stress och skapa utrymme för återhämtning i vardagen.
- Forskningens stöd för mindfulness: en översikt av vetenskapliga rön som påvisar mindfulness positiva effekter.
- Självmedkänsla: vad det innebär och varför det är en viktig faktor för att förebygga empatiutmattning.

Kursen kombinerar informativa presentationer med enkla, guidade övningar och meditationer som är tillgängliga för alla, oavsett tidigare erfarenhet. Vi håller också fika tillsammans! Full Moon Regards from the Archipelago Sea! Sharing magic from this week.
Our home is an island of 792 year-round residents. Operating a small company here thrives on creativity and collaboration, drawing us into a deeply engaged community that keeps life vibrant even after the high season ends. The spirit among our friends and colleagues is truly wonderful!
In the autumn the focus of Paddling Academy and Moving Heart, shifting from the intensity of the warmer season into an autumn and winter rhythm. Our work naturally carries a multifaceted beauty that mirrors the changing seasons.
Lately, Gabriel is often found nurturing our old house, punctuated by moments of kayaking or leading children’s dance. ElinMaria is excited to be involved in several collaborations, including bringing the Dance for Health method and Peace School workshops to the Archipelago. She is also teaching local yoga classes, in addition to her online offerings!

“Even if I knew the world were going to end tomorrow, I would still plant a tree today.”

Or, as the story goes when Martin Luther was asked what he would do if the world were to end tomorrow, he answered, “I would plant an apple tree today.”

Gardening can be such powerful aneqtode in a world of crises. Here in archipelago season is relatively short for veggies to grow, and therefor intense. But gardening itself is a slow steady long-term process; of getting to know the microclimate of your soil, steadyfast composting for the next years and learning by doing. You can read a lot a bout garden, but in the end what you integrate to hands and your dance with nature is another journey.

In these times, when our government are implicit to genocide, by arming countries who forcely starv whole populations to death, gardening seem to be more than food on my plate. It becomes a radical act of resistence, emphatizing with all the work behind growing food. Knowing by heart that we are completeley depended on nature and how we treat nature, for future generations to come. Gratefulness from nursing small seeds into delicious food to eat makes us humble.

We are slowly and steadyfast giving our hearts to the future and to this soil under our feet. Every year we have more food to be shared; vegan and ecologically grown from our own garden to the plates of our customers.

This course is designed to help you build inner resilience. Whether you're new to the practice or looking to deepen your skills, the classes offer a warm, supportive space to explore new ways of being.

Through gentle yoga, restorative practices, and somatics, we'll focus on self-compassion and interoception - the ability to be with what is and respond with kindness. By connecting with your body's calming system, you'll learn to become your own inner support, just as you would for someone you care about.

The course is trauma-sensitive and integrates various methods, including polyvagal theory, yoga nidra, and mindfulness, to provide you with practical tools for everyday life.

Wonderful days where we've embodied the Baltic Sea's mighty creation and life underwater; the metamorphosis when the exceptionally old bedrock was formed, the brackish water and how the right winds drive saltwater in from the Atlantic, the bottom-dwelling animals in shallow water and the blue mussels in the dark sea depths. Among so much else; laughter and fun. The primary and middle school students in Korpo, Houtskär, and Nagu have visited the Archipelago Centre Korpoström, their phenomenal exhibition 5.9 ‰ Together with the Archipelago Sea Biosphere Reserve and with the support of the City of Parainen.

Rauhanliitto (Finnish Peace Union) is an umbrella organization for 18 Finnish peace organizations!
The yellow wooden building stands amidst asphalt and high-rise buildings in Helsinki.

I'm very happy to have become a part of the educators in Rauhanliitto's work with the Peace School (Rauhankoulu) and meet with students in the Archipelago and Turku area!

"In the Peace School, students learn about global development issues, human rights, and sustainable development goals. They also practice their skills as global citizens to be able to build a sustainable future."

With engaging and inclusive teaching methods and process drama, young people get to think about how peace issues relate to their own lives and the world around them!

Välkommen till en föreläsning som vill inspirera till dans och rörelse för alla åldrar och kroppar! Glädjen i dans och rörelse är djupt mänsklig och har utövats i alla kulturer och tider. Under denna föreläsning utmanar vi idén om att dans endast skulle vara för dem med rytmkänsla eller god kondition! Du får ta del av forskningsresultat inom området och lära dig hur dans kan öka livskvaliteten för alla.

Visste du att dans är den mest effektiva träningsmetoden för att lindra och förebygga depression och annan stressrelaterad problematik? Forskning visar att dans har en positiv inverkan på kroppens må-bra-hormoner, immunförsvar och blodtryck, social interaktion och meningsskapande, minnet samt neurala kopplingar i hjärnan. Psykisk ohälsa och stressproblematik i samhället är alarmerande, inte minst bland unga. Dans kan vara ett viktigt komplement för att förebygga denna utveckling.

ElinMaria är verksam som danskonstnär och har under sin yrkesverksamma tid lett dans på en mängd olika platser och för olika målgrupper: barn, tonåringar, grupper med varierande funktionsnedsättningar, pedagoger och lärare i skolor, personal på äldreboenden, i flyktingläger och inom äldreomsorgen. Under denna föreläsning får du en inblick i hennes arbete med metoden "Dans för hälsa" och får veta mer om dansens positiva forskningsresultat. Det blir en föreläsning med en blandning av personliga berättelser från ElinMarias yrkesliv och en inspirerande inblick i hur dans är ett språk som alla kan tala!

Föreläsningen riktar sig till alla som vill veta mer om dansens positiva fördelar som en hälsofrämjande insats i samhället, bredda sin uppfattning om vad dans kan vara och följa med på en fascinerande resa genom en lokal danskonstnärs arbete och passion.
