NW500 Clinical Case Images: Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy

In this case, the NW500 was used to image a patient diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of eight. Over time, this led to the development of proliferative diabetic retinopathy in the right eye, which was treated with panretinal photocoagulation (PRP). The patient also developed diabetic macular oedema, which subsequently regressed following focal laser therapy.

The first case image showcases the NW500 Mosaic function (5 fields), while the second shows a zoomed in image of the macular region – PDR – OD.

NW500 Clinical Case Images: Moderate Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy

The NW500 Disc–Macula function enables automated serial imaging centred first on the optic disc and then the macula, with no operator intervention required between captures. This protocol aligns with diabetic retinopathy screening requirements in many countries.
