Belladonna is another of the dairyman's favourites for solving mastitis. It is often one of the first remedies they reach for especially when they notice a usually biddable cow is unusually irritable, even aggressive.

Belladonna is also used in combination with Bryonia and Urtica, known as BBU. This is a useful way for the dairyman to treat signs of mastitis quickly until they have time to take the case and prescribe a unique remedy. More often than not, the case is solved with BBU before they have a chance to get their books out!

Considering it's sore throat season, Mercurius seems a particularly apt remedy to showcase.

An amazing remedy for all kinds of sore throats, if there are pains that shoot up into the ears or bad breath, Mercurius is a likely choice.

A great remedy for mouth ulcers (aka canker sores), sometimes the tonsils can also show ulceration during an illness with a sore throat.

There are a few different types of Mercurius remedy, but for the home prescriber, you will usually be using Merc Solubilis, or occasionally Merc Corrosivus.

Gute Nachricht für alle Tierheilpraktiker/innen:
Haustiere dürfen wieder mit homöopathischen Mitteln behandelt werden

Seit einem knappen Jahr durften laut neu verfasstem Tierarzneimittelgesetz Hunde, Katzen und andere Haustiere nicht mehr mit homöopathischen Heilmitteln behandelt werden, die für Menschen vorgesehen waren. Es galt der sogenannte Tierarztvorbehalt – Tierheilpraktiker/innen standen daher vor dem beruflichen Aus. Das Bundesverfassungsgericht erklärte nun nach Prüfung einer Klage die neue Vorschrift für teilweise verfassungswidrig. Geklagt hatten 4 Tierheilpraktikerinnen, deren Therapieansatz der klassischen Homöopathie keine speziellen Mittel für Tiere vorsieht. Die Karlsruher Richter/innen teilten nun mit, dass der mit dem Gesetz verbundene Eingriff in die Berufs- und Handlungsfreiheit nicht verhältnismäßig und daher verfassungswidrig sei. Die neue Regelung seit Januar galt ausdrücklich auch für Tierhalter – doch auch dieser Part wurde von dem Bundesverfassungsgericht für nichtig erklärt.
