Our cardiac team has successfully performed the hospital’s first IVUS-guided coronary stenting procedure in the new Cath Lab, marking a major step forward in advanced cardiac care for Fiji.
The landmark procedure was led by a team including Aspen Medical Consultant Cardiologist Dr Bharatvansh Bali. The procedure was completed last week without complications, and the patient was discharged the following day in a stable condition.

Aspen Medical is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Jemesa Tudravu, Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, on Saturday, 27 December 2025.

We are honoured to have worked closely with Dr Tudravu under the Public Private Partnership with the Government of Fiji and amongst his many achievements, we were privileged when Dr Tudravu officiated the opening of the newly Aspen Medical–managed Ba Hospital, an occasion that reflected his unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery for the people of Fiji.

Dr Tudravu dedicated more than three decades’ distinguished service to Fiji’s health sector. An accomplished Orthopaedic Surgeon, following specialist training at Newcastle Hospital in Australia, he served with distinction as Medical Superintendent at Lautoka Hospital and the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, Chief Medical Advisor, Acting Permanent Secretary, and ultimately Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services from February 2024.

His leadership and lifelong dedication have left a lasting imprint on Fiji’s health system and on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

On behalf of Aspen Medical, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr Tudravu’s family, friends, colleagues, and the wider health community. We honour his life, his outstanding service, and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

This festive season, as we celebrate the true joy of Christmas, our team came together through the Tree of Hope initiative to share kindness and give back to our community.

Donations generously collected from the team were lovingly distributed to the Veilomani Boys Home in Ba and St Tabitha Orphanage in Saweni, Lautoka. The remaining gifts were shared with our very own children in the Children’s Wards at Lautoka Hospital and Ba Hospital.

This Christmas, we continue to remind everyone of the importance of staying healthy and safe, and we wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas filled with hope, care, and compassion 🎄✨
