PUBLIC NOTICE: New Traffic Fees & Penalties - Effective from Today!

From today (23rd January 2026), the new land transport fees and penalties will come into effect for speeding, illegal parking and failure to stop and weigh.

Key changes include:
• Speeding fines increased
– Exceeding speed limit by less than 15km/h: $50 (was $25)
– Exceeding speed limit between 15km/h and 29km/h: $75 (was $40)
– Exceeding speed limit by 30km/h or more: $100 (was $60)

Illegal Parking or Stopping:
• Fine increased from $20 to $100

Failure to Stop and Weigh:
• 1st offence: $300
• 2nd offence: $600
• Subsequent offence: $900
