Introduction: SBF is a recently established private business, in aquaculture, commercial tissue engineering and research facilities. The new venture was set-up to explore the possibility of having a mariculture, tissue culture business to supply the unmet demand for good quality, prawn fry/fingerling, planting materials in the market, that can be supplied in a timely manner, and cheap, particularly those with Fiji focus, for example, prawn, lobster, banana, kava, rose, (ornamental plants) cactus and orchids. The aim of the business is to produce quality aquaculture, floriculture and horticulture planting materials, by rapidly multiply the same and distribute to the local farmers, business and stakeholders to reduce the growing supply-demand gap. Vision: Siva Biotechnology (Fiji) aims to develop a competitive, independent, innovative and sustainable, aquaculture and tissue culture laboratory for breeding and a research facility that will provide quality materials, fry/fingerlings with training in aquaculture, floriculture and horticulture to farmers in Fiji.
