At , we'll be joined by Associate Professor Prue Cormie from the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, delivering a keynote titled "Exercise medicine for cancer".

Cancer patients who perform quality exercise regularly have experienced fewer and less severe treatment-related side effects, have a lower relative risk of some types of cancer recurrence, and a lower relative risk of dying from some types cancer.

Prue's research shows that most cancer doctors don’t routinely recommend exercise but 2 in 3 cancer patients would be ‘very much convinced’ to exercise by their cancer doctor’s advice. Her team is researching ways to help doctors deliver the prescription every cancer patient needs - exercise medicine.

THE PSC ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF PERMANENT SECRETARY FOR HEALTH AND MEDICAL SERVICES

The Public Service Commission, with the agreement of the Prime Minister is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jemesa Tudravu as Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services.

As an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon and Health Administrator with over 30 years of working experience both locally and abroad, Dr Tudravu brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Ministry, strengthening the leadership team of the Ministry.

His blend of skills and insights will play a pivotal role in advancing the Ministry’s mission and objectives.

The Chairman, PSC, Luke Rokovada said he is thrilled to welcome Dr Jemesa Tudravu. His exceptional leadership qualities and track record of success makes him the ideal candidate to lead the Ministry of Health and Medical Services. We are confident that under his guidance, the Ministry will thrive and achieve new heights in improving health care services delivery. His appointment represent a significant milestone and we are excited about the opportunities ahead under his leadership said Mr Rokovada.

 An experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon and Health Administrator with over 30 years of working experience in health appointments locally and abroad

 Undergraduate medical training at the Fiji School of Medicine and post graduate training in Orthopaedic surgery in Newcastle, Australia.
