With fatigue comes loss of tone & you may feel your face is closing in so lets take a few moments to brighten, refresh and feel an energy begin to emerge.

Each Autumn nature’s bounty gives us a chance to optimise bodies with health & vitality. Thanks to the root vegetables such as butternut, pumpkin, beetroot and sweet potato which grow close to or in the earth these foods provide us with the grounding, stability and nourishment that our bodies need as the temperatures begin to drop.

Autumn is the time to build our outer sheath, it boosts immunity, protecting the body from infection. As we consume these vegetables that were slow to grow throughout the summer helps to build the Earth element in the body and it supports the metal element. In Chinese Medicine, the metal element correlates to the lungs and large intestine. Metal is derived from the earth, as the earth contains minerals and on an energetic/spiritual level, the metal element builds resilience and self worth.

This is season where leaves fall and we are inspired to ‘’let go of’ and the metal element give us the courage to awaken the warrior spirit and cut through any burdens with our sword of discernment. I recommend eating fewer raw foods in the late fall and more building foods such as grains, nuts, root vegetables, and seeds.

I will be making lots of Wholesome soups which are naturally sweet and fortifying for the body’s inherent vitality dependent on the earth’s minerals.

How permeable is your SKIN ? The skin is revealing of what goes on inside, it is a living, breathing organ. As our organ of perception and our capacity to feel, emotion can show up immediately. Thanks to face yoga we get to work our skin with positive touch, loving touch & this is so important Le toucher.

All Yoga du visage practices Self massage, facial exercises and acupressure while integrating our breath we get to work on the muscles which is energetically releasing & healing. Most of our lines are associated with negative emotions & have names like frown lines, tear lines etc. When we carry out our FY practice and smooth out lines we are not only working on the esthetic benefit but on the emotion associated with that wrinkle. This moving out can be felt as well as seen. There is a DEEP SERENITY to be gained from this practice.

FILL THE SAILS OF YOUR LUNGS
Feeling STRONG, and CURIOUS, and ENERGISED is essential to creating a life that we desire.

This September is different to other Rentrées with an ever increasing desire for wellbeing. I feel it in my classes, finding ways to cope with life’s ups and downs.

Yoga has really helped me over the years, especially after pregnancies and different transitions in my life. I really see the huge benefit of the practice to women & men of all ages.

🦋 These days when we finish up a class SALT-SWEATY, AGLOW and ENERGISED I recognise and know how much it all MEANS & FEELS, the soaking up of the calm, the alignment, the centering in through all that’s going on.

But beyond souplesse, mental wellbeing it is also about the sense of belonging, the thrill of the challenge, finding the edge, the Coordination. the CONNECTION, COMMUNITY, the SOLIDARITE.

You can really touch that part of yourself where your starting to really listen to your breath and you really notice the flow of that prana within yourself.
🦋 To find that within yourself is to really accept oneself and so we can nourish ourselves so that from anywhere we can then connect with that abode in our daily life.
