Jodie Foster is still looking for ways to test herself.
This month, the actor and director, who speaks French fluently, has her first leading role in a French movie, the comically toned “A Private Life.”
“I wanted to make sure it was a real French movie and not a big, bloated American co-production that just happens to be shot in France,” said Foster of the film in which she plays a psychiatrist who investigates a patient’s death.
