High in the canopy, where science meets skill and history meets nature, tree work becomes something greater—it becomes a contribution 🌳✌️🌈

A small group of individuals just recently spent time in French Guiana, they had the opportunity to take on a wide range of fascinating and challenging projects. From technical tree work in the capital city of Cayenne to preserving cultural heritage at the historic Mondelicé sugar plantation, and supporting vital scientific research in remote forest sites like Paracou and Bagne des Annamites—every job pushed their skills and purpose. Whether installing antennas to track birds of prey or placing heat sensors high in the canopy, each task played a part in supporting science, culture, and conservation.

At Courant, we’re proud to support initiatives like these that blend skilled climbing, environmental research, and heritage preservation—highlighting the critical role tree professionals play beyond traditional arboriculture 💚

In the 1980s, when the waters got rough, Yves made a bold decision: to focus on those who work at height.

👷‍♂️ 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀—he thought about men’s safety.
🔥 𝗛𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲,
which marked COURANT’s 🇫🇷 entry into the hashtag world, with the lifeline rope.

🪁 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗹? He was testing Dyneema… to make kite strings. (Yes, really!)
A visionary shift, perfectly aligned with who we are! That boldness still inspires us today.
