I left behind great Yoga classes and came to a place here in France with no plan. We bought this house not really knowing why? Yes alway knew we would move on, the career was hurting, painful stressful times. We were looking to move on eagerly; Then this big house with a 60m2 room found us, We had no particular plan. Any ideas we thought we had slipped away as we settled in. Other little seeds hav
e taken root. I didn't find the Yoga I wanted, so began to invite friends to come and do Yoga with me. That was how the spirit of Yoga took hold of things. The house too seems to hold me, ready to fulfill a need to serve, echoes of its community past hosting 'Cafe Du Commerce' and 'Epicerie De Paris'. This house needs to serve with as much compulsion as I feel a need to follow Yoga, wherever it takes me. Yoga offers a freedom and promise to live more fully. Then news of a Yoga teacher new to the area, reached me, next village to ours offering classes in the area and Yoga teacher training! Tandy Pengelly offered me exactly what I needed and with some eager students by now, training was logical, and my gift to myself for my 60th birthday. We embarked one to one over a year. At my class in Archway house on the 27th 7th 2017, I was finally assessed and given full accreditation. This house built in 1800 has an Archway at the front of the house. The big gates at the Arch would be opened on market days, a market in the town square opposite and a cattle market at the farm behind, marketeers would traverse the two, passing under the archway and passage between front and back of the house taking in refreshments and groceries along their way. The name Archway House seems abundantly obvious, though it was never obvious to me. There is also an Archway in the room now designated for Yoga formerly the' Epicerie Du Paris', This was the Arch claiming attention, nudging me from sleep to announce its name. It was a week later I began to remove the plaster boarding over the Arch in the 'Lounge'. What's underneath? There we found beneath the plaster board, a coat of plaster and beneath the plaster, splatterings of nasty suffocating cement, until the stone wall precisely Arched with white sandstone smiled through. Here was our deserving Arch, waiting to be seen in its full beauty. Archway Yoga was born.
