Heres a few pictures of what the lads had last week a mixed bag weather wise with heavy rain , early in the week switching to glorious sunshine and 32 degrees friday. Mixed bag for the lads fishing also with the fish moving to the other half of the lake and holding there all week .
Two of our nhs finest on last week with trev the nurse and Lee head porter at Kent hospital. unfortunately they drew the half where the fish weren't. Leading to a blank for trev and Lee struggling but managed a pb 41lb mirror on the last night.
Jason had the lion share in 4 with 10 fish landed and a new pb 41lb mirror also. Aaron in 3 had 4 over 30lb to 36lb but a slow week in peg 3 .
Big thanks to the boys for a very generous 80 euro tip they gave me . I promised trev a free week and he said he'll be back in 2 years to put his blank behind him. Aaron is back with another 3 lads next June also.
Another 2 bookings in this week Richie is back on the 18th April when they'll be full as guns . Still got a couple of free weeks in April left if you fancy going for them pre spawning. May june there's space left aswell as September and October.
A 37lb out last night in peg 1 for Micheal before he pulled in for the night.
The fish do seem a lot more active.

A big storm came in last night after dinner making setting up a nightmare for the lads. Infact it didn't stop all night with thunderstorms and its still raining heavy now. It was a wet start for the boys last week but by Wednesday the sun had returned and we had 32° friday and nighttime temperature only dropped to 21° so a big change now.
The fish were showing a lot when the lads arrived all over .last week was tough again with the fish moving out of the shallows to behind the island into peg 4 and 3 water leaving lee and trev struggling in pegs 2 and 1. Poor trev blanked and Lee managed a 41lb mirror on the last night .Jason in peg 4 got into double figures upto 41lb and Aaron had 4 thirties from peg 3 but it was slow not helped by the weather changes. I'll post there pictures on the next post.
Ive not been over to the other lake since yesterday morning but im.sure it will be filling again after all this rain so i'll have to pump out again. Tommy who arrived yesterday brought me a replacement fan belt for the digger which i'll fit when it dries out some. The big machinery is landing this week for the dig out which starts on the 17th October. When we close.

A lot of rain so far this week for the new lads and a strong wind blowing into peg 3 . Aaron who's been out regularly over the last 5 years has brought 3 new lads on there first trip to foxpool. Aaron got off to a good start with a 36lb mirror and Jason in four had a couple of small mirrors the first night and followed that up last night with a double take landing a 41lb and 31lb mirrors. Nothing from pegs 1 and 2 yet . They dont seem to be as active the last few days showing, i think the heavy rain has pushed them down.
Last week's group got off Saturday after a bit of a tough week unfortunately probably 10 fish lost between the 4 of them.
They had a swap round on Wednesday and poor liam moved to 1 and lost 4 on the bounce . I was with the welder doing the hedgetrimmer and we heard his rod screaming off by the time he ran from the cabin the fish was nearly in the snags. I told him to give it some pressure and he got it past the jetty. Unfortunately there's a bit of marginal w**d in peg one, and he should of moved closer to the fish rather than play it from the peg as the fish would of probably moved out to the middle of the lake. Unfortunately the fish lunged. Me and welder were on the decking and heard the line crack and it was a big long mirror all, power and it shot towards us and under the boat bagging at the hull and was gone I think a big forty if not the big long mirror thats not been hooked yet. Richie lost 3 aswell whilst in peg 1 .
Liam did go on to bank another 4 or 5 from peg 1 biggest 35lb and had a forty and 39lb from 4 aswell as a smaller carp and 22lb catfish that was removed.
Richie had a few in peg 1 and managed 38lb mirror from peg 4 aswell as few more. Big ian did it again managing the biggest of the week from peg 3 a 44.8lb leather. Dennis's in peg 2 struggled until he swapped with Ian and grabbed a couple from peg 3 upto 36lb.
Good banter from these 4 scouscers as always great fun to have on. Big thanks for the tip you gave me and the comments on how much you enjoyed the food package.
The weather definitely turned autumnal now, and the days are shortening by the week . Ive been stuck in the house all day yesterday and this morning due to the rain. Ill probably have to pump out again next door.i'm stuck without the digger now until I get the fan belt but I think after today it gets warmer.
5 weeks left after this week until we close i'm more than ready for a break as its been 7 days a week every week most the year ill probably look for a cook/cleaner to help out next year and try to close for a week every couple of months on top of the mid summer shutdown.
Fishing not been easy this year certainly not a patch on last year ,mainly due to the heat and the fish spawning 3 times. Still a few of the bigger fish and pristine fish not seen the bank yet. The fully scaled and big plated linear aswell as stu's common and the long mirror have not seen the bank yet hopefully they'll show up over the next last few weeks. Blackspot not been out for a few months ill be surprised if shes not over forty now.

The fish are playing hard to get again . Liam was off to a flyer bagging a 40lb and 39lb in peg 4 . Big Ians done it again after dropping into peg 3 he hadn't had a touch then yesterday bagged a 44.8lb leather . He hasn't wet a line before filling a place last year, and was rewarded with a 53lb mirror on his first dabble at fishing .
The lads have had a switch around yesterday and Ian swapped with Dennis in peg 2 and a few hours later had a low 20lb mirror. Poor Dennis can't buy a bite on his first french trip but the winds pushing into peg 3 now so hopefully he'll get up and running today.
Liams swapped with Richie in 1 and lost 3 on the bounce before bagging a 17lb he had a descemt cat from 4 just before they swapped aswell. Richies had a few twentys from 1 and lost 3 but he bagged a 38lb mirror from 4 in the night. It's gone a lot cooler the last few days and some rain.
Ive been cutting some trees down that are around the other lake but the fan belt snapped on the jcb last night so im.trying to get a replacement. I have a welder here welding my hedgetrimmer i brought over from the uk. I'm hoping to sell it to put towards the dig out on Chad's pool.
Hopefully the fish start munching again there's signs of improvement with 4 fish out and 3 lost in the last 24 hours.

Well a wet week last week with driving wind and Rain pushing the fish down into peg 3, where little Dave was sat on the end of it.
He had a plumb start bagging 10 fish with nothing under 34lb and 3 x 40plus 44lb ,45lb and 47.7lb breaking his pb twice and going on to catch 15 fish in total . Dan fished 1 and later moved to 4 on Thursday he had a couple to 27lb first night but there wasn't much infront of him he had a few more upto 30lb then moved to peg 4 the last 2 day's and caught 3 straight away in driving Rain biggest 36lb then went on to bag another 36.14lb mirror and 29lb on the last night.
Old Dave was in tough peg 2 and 1 of his reels packed up, I offered him one of ours but he said he was happy fishing 2 rods. He landed a 37lb mirror on daves rod but struggled in 2 before moving into peg 1 after dan moved to 4 then he had a 39lb mirror and a 27lb fish unfortunately another one of his reels packed in so he borrowed a pair off us but he didn't bother fishing at night much as hes 76 year old now I think the weather was hard for him to take and he lost a bit of his mojo , but at 76 I take my hat off to him, hes the 3rd 76 plus year old angler we've had on in the last year. Not easy spending a week on the bank in a bedchair at any age so at 76 fair play.
I dont know if we will see Dave again ,hopefully so as there a great set of lads , 3 generations of the same family.
Little Dave went home happy though and a new pb.
A slow start to this week so far liams had a couple of lumps in peg 4 with a forty and 39lb mirrors. Richie had a couple this morning adding to a mid twenty 1st night in one but there not showing as much . Richies had 3 and lost 2 ,one at the net that snapped him its gone quite in pegs 2 and 3 though for ian and Dennis.

Ive been grafting clearing some woodland on the other lake the last 2 weeks . Must of dropped 20 trees and cut up ready for burning . I'll let the 3 piles of branches die off , then have a fire before the contractor comes in so we have room for what's dugout.
The 3 d's got off yesyerday Dave had a 31lb on the last night in 3 to finish a good week for him, Dan had a 27.8lb common the patch thatchers in from the stockpond 2 years ago from peg 4 he did well moving in there the last 2 nights
Old Dave didn't fish as it was a early pack up.
4 scouscers on this week, it didn't take them long to mention the football when they got in the car. It's going to be a long week.😭.
Liam.bagged a forty just on dark from .peg 4 and Richie opened his account with a 27lb fish from peg 1.
I'll post last weeks catch report later.
Westher is warm 27 degrees yesterday and hot today with a really warm westerly wind .

Well the move was worth it for dan into peg 4 not had his rod in half an hour for his biggest fish so far at 36lb .

Once in a blue moon the carp. gods aline in your favour and you get a session to remember . Well its Dave turn this week in peg 3 bagging 10 fish so far nothing smaller than 34lb with 3 forties 44lb shamrock ,45lb leather carp and 47.7lb hes hoping for a grass carp now but there was one landed and one lost in 3 last week to Ben and theres only 4 in here but you never know with the week hes having. He a generous soul letting his father in law Dave and son Dan land one a piece on his rods dan a 34lb and Dave a 37lb .
Dan's had a few in peg 1 upto 30lb but is moving to 4 today as there's a few showing on the back of the island.
We've had really strong winds the last 2 days pushing the fish down to peg 3 water and its been a wet week so far but it stayed dry for the bq last night thankfully.
We've had a few bookings come in this this week . the opening week has gone now, next April 4th and only 3 spots left in August for the 22nd .July is full also . Plenty left in April, may ,june September and October though I know a few groups out this year said they wanted to return but haven't booked yet so get in touch if you have a preferred date so we can get you pencilled in. I know some of you need to wait for your holiday dates at work to be released though.

Well little Dave's on a roll bagging a couple of 45lb plus fish since dinner last night plus a brace of 35lb fish to boot in peg 3 .
He sent me the pic of his 45lb fish last night then shortly after a 35lb common . Im working on Chad's lake and he just come over to tell me hed broke his pb again with a 47.8lb after firstly breaking it with the 45lb mirror just before dark.
Seems like the big uns are on the feed Dan's had a couple in peg 1 but senior Dave another legend on the the bank at 75years plus is waiting for his first one.
We had non stop rain yesterday which was much needed but sun and cloud today with a warm westerly wind.
Dave isn't using a baitboat in peg 3 just fishing mid water on a pva mesh bag on coconut cream as did most the boys who were on last week. And he's scattering bollies around with his catapult . Hopefully he or the boys get the big mirror last out 53lb over a year ago thats not showed its face yet this season what a session that would be. Well Done Dave.
Im busy pumping Chad's pool out after the rain into foxpool and chopping trees .

Well.a hectic time with having steve and simon here after the accident and Andys group aswell as tom being here.
Thankfully I can report steve and.simon are feeling better and recovering in there own home now.
I got back a week last friday after taking Thomas hone and Saturday morning Andy in peg 1 had a 35lb fish in the night poor john had lost 1 after a bought rig the crimp failed, that was his 4th fish lost on a slow week which was hard to take he said. Poor Dave in 4 got off to a flyer then it went dead similar to.last week.
We had a great set of young lads on this week and Dav was off to a flyer in the tough peg 2 breaking his pb twice in the first 24 hours firstly bagg a 38lb mirror then the shamrock at 43.8lb . At this point it looked like things were going to pick up after the heat of the week before temperatures were a lot cooler and there was a lot of activity the lads said.
However it turned out to be the toughest week of the season so far as the fish were playing hard ball ,even in peg 1 which has fished consistently best all year steve was struggling. Not helped by the fact his brand New delkims weren't connecting to his receiver. I was sat in the house and heard his rod screaming off but he was at the cabin not realising as his receiver wasn't working. Unfortunately losing a fish. I lent him a set of fox alarms and he had a couple of nice upper 30s to 39lb and dropped a few but a slow week for peg 1. Halfway through the week the wi d swung around and picked up blowing into 3 where Ben bagged a couple of 29.8lb fish a commen and a grass carp followed by a 18lb mirror but lost a bigger fish a large grassy at the net on last night. Dav picked up another 34lb mirror in 2 . Poor Tom in 4 was struggling after losing a few he managed a small common then reckoned he had the same fish the next night before breaking pb with low thirty. But a frustrating week for all despite there efforts. It's been a slow past 3 weeks but we sat at the cabin and warch feeding bubbles coming up in 2 and 3 but pick ups were hard to come by. It's frustrating when you get a group come the first time and although they seen some descent fish they dont see the full potential. I offered the boys a discounted week if they want to return in the future. Infact Dan and Ben might be back for the work party in October if they can get time off as a couple have dropped out.
The lads certainly enjoyed the social side with bq smoke filling the air aswell as toms skunk. It turned out me and steve used to live on the same road when I lived with my brother in the 80s in cheshunt. Small world.
This week we have 3 generations on the 3 d's grandpa Dave, son in law Dsve, and grandson Dan from Cheltenham, they were last here 3 years ago and it was great to see them all back again.
Ive been busy last week dropping trees in the woodland on the far side of the new lake in preparation for the dig out .. id emptied the lake but with the heavy rain friday its started to fill. It's given more rain this week which is much needed in foxpool as its been a really dry summer with no rain for months. But not what I need in Chad's pool.
Big Thanks for Ben for fetching me over more bacon and beans and for single Handedly giving to cabin a thorough clean before they left . Much Apreciatted mate.

Well after a quite few days in peg 2 john has banked a brace of thirties first catching a fish called Adam at 32lb then banking a 35lb fish at breakfast today from the tough going peg 2.
I left foxpool yesterday at 1pm to fly back to the uk. steve and simon were picked up by my good friend paul young and taken to there van to be collected with the van and taken home finally. After a tough time for them both . I messaged steve at 10 this morning and they still hadn't reached calais after the driver was late arriving so there trauma continues but least they'll both be back with family soon and can heal in the comfort of there own home.
Big thanks to paul for stepping up as I couldn't take them as I was flying back to the uk with Tom.
The weather has cooled and there was a thunderstorm as we took off from limoges.
I dont know how heavy the rain was at the lake but thats what we need to drop the water temperature. It's fished better than last week but still slow and the bigger fish are not showing . David in peg 4 had a good start but it slowed up for him and he tried maize yesterday. with only Andy catching daily in the shallows water where the fish seem to be holding up I think as it cools now the fish will head to deeper water and peg 3 will kick in.
I have 1 spot possibly 2 as ive not heard back off Adam for the work party week in October from the 18th if anyone is interested in a free week fishing breakfast and tackle hire will be provided but you'll have to arrange getting here and pay for bait or bring your own we will collect from limoges on the Saturday 18th on the Manchester and stanstead flight which Jason and steve are voming on. Get in touch if youve been out this year , you must be physically fit as we'll working on pegs .flights are cheap at that time and ill supply sleeping bags and towels to save space. October can be good with the fish at top weights and condition. But we are at the end of pressured season so it can be hard but the rewards can be good.
Well done john on the fish hopefully they'll get a few more before im back tomorrow evening.

A big change in the weather today with only 19° ,and some light drizzle . There's already been more fish out than last week . Andy in peg 1 is catching consistently and he's had 6 i think . David in peg 3 had a brace of thirtys but nothing last night . John is covering peg 2 and 3 water but despite fish showing hasn't managed to temp one yet but did land a 32lb mirror on Andy rod when he was in the toilet.
The wind has turned blowing into peg 3 now so hopefully they push a few John's way . Hopefully the hot weather is over now or at least the extreme high temperatures.
The lake next door is almost empty now unfortunately we lost a few cats and carp in there but I managed to save what I could. The silt/mud is unbelievably hard to wade through. up to your waste ill be glad when it's dug out with a sold bottom hopefully then we will have a minimum depth of 5ft which will be good and when the fish are moved over it won't be long until there fed up to twenty and thirty pound plus over the next few years.
I was throwing some bread in the stockpond last night and there was a group of mirrors, mouths open feeding on the top bubbles everywhere like a whirlpool bath and they were all doubles. Can't wait to net that next spring. I will leave a dozen or so pristine fish only in there after to grow on quicker and spawn as there's far to many fish in there now thats why there not growing over mid doubles just to crowded.
Unfortunately simon and steve are still waiting to return to the uk . It's a nightmare for them both as there both in a lot of discomfort and trying to get through to the the relevant insurance company and police and hospital reports has been difficult also they need a fit to travel notice off the hospital for there travel insurance. They have hopefully arrange collection for them and the van with there gear for tomorrow from a company in Oxford to repatriate them. Simon is desperate to get home as his mum is not well in hospital. It's a nightmare scenario for them both . We're doing our best to help them out me and tom are staying in silve and gerts gite so they can stay here and were keeping them fed and watered. Gert is helping with translation.
Just make sure you have the correct travel and breakdown cover if your coming out to france as it could be a costly experience if not.
I've had several enquiries come in this week for 2026 can I just remind the groups that have booked on for next year and not paid the deposits we won't hold dates indefinitely without a deposit . July and August are more or less sold out now but plenty of space left for the other months .
I have invited a few lads out for a end of season workpary im just waiting to here from a couple if they've changed there minds and can't make it might have a couple more spaces on the 18th October. I will collect from limoges and supply free fishing for the week and a breakfast and do bq 1 night but evening meals you'll have to cook yourself as im busy with the contractor digging Chad's pool out. If there any space i'll offer the other places to lads who been out this year first
Work will involve peg work ,drainage, packing down and cleaning gear possibly a lick of paint for the cabin wood chopping. You need to be physically fit of coarse. Heres what the boys had so far and what steve and simon had last week . Thanks Graham.
