Strides are short bursts of fast running that improve your form and leg turnover.

⚡ Add 4–6 strides (20–30 seconds each) after easy runs to reinforce good mechanics.
⚖ Focus on relaxed speed—not sprinting.

Running: Tempo Runs That Actually Work

Tempo runs train your body to sustain speed and build mental toughness. But only if done right.

🔥 Know your zone: Tempo pace should feel “comfortably hard”—about 80–90% of your max effort or what you could hold for an hour.
⏱ Time over distance: Focus on effort for 20–40 minutes, not pace alone. This prevents burnout and teaches pacing discipline.
🛤 Stay consistent: One tempo run per week delivers major aerobic gains over time.
🔹 Coach Insight: Pacing smart beats running fast. Tempo is about control, not chaos.

Join us at our inaugural Evolve Endurance Festival, 11-17 July. Take part in our running clinics, get your physiology and biomechanics tested professionally and complete our picturesque Route D'Ecluses half marathon. Fun awaits at our Chateau with live entertainment, great food and a festival vibe. Relax at our pool and energise during our gym and yoga sessions. There are swim-bike-run activities for kids and adults alike and you can even try to complete our heart of the Chateau Challenge s part of a team or on your own.
