Harvesting grass silage requires attention to detail to ensure high quality and optimal nutritional value 🌿🚜

Here are some tips to keep in mind:
✅ Harvest grass when at 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) tall,
✅ Aim to cut grass at a height of 6-7 cm (2.4-2.8 inches) to avoid soil contamination,
✅ Adjust the chop length based on the dry matter (DM) content of the grass. For grass with >30% DM, use a chop length of 1.5-2 cm (0.5-0.8 inches). For grass below 30% DM, use 2-5 cm (0.8-2 inches),
✅ Use silage inoculant according to your grass challenge and protect the treasure you grow.

After a very rainy May in most of Poland, which allowed corn to grow and produce very tall cobs, the corn harvest started 2-3 weeks earlier than usual, due to the extreme heat of August 🌽🚜
⚠️ Unexpected problems were encountered: Corn plants were still green while the grain had matured, making it hard to achieve the optimal dry matter, increasing the risk of high effluent levels, causing nutrient and dry matter losses during ensiling.
