It’s only January and I’m already dreaming of mindful movement in the mountains of the Alps and Pyrenees this summer.

If you’re like me and can’t wait to move through stunning alpine landscapes at a pace that feels right with enough time to pause and reflect, then one of our retreats could be just for you.

And if yoga is more your movement than running our ‘Soul of the Pyrenees’ retreat in October will be very special.

All our retreats are on our website - www.yogamountainrun.com

It’s now the 4th January and since New Year’s Day I’ve been trying to decide on a photo to post that encapsulates what I want from 2026. I kept coming back to this picture of my tent from my NYE bike and camp out in the Nightcap National Park.

Every year I try to simplify my life more and more. I don’t have a home but I do own several tents. A tent is as simple a home as you can have. It provides shelter and security from the elements, and I love the womb like feeling it provides. A place I can retreat to and find peace and tranquility.

A tent for me also means adventure. It is time fully immersed in nature, sleeping on the ground - as connected as we can be to Mother Earth. I’ve been in my tent a few times in 2025 but not as much as I would have liked.

For 2026 I want to continue my life of adventure, to not worry too much about where I will sleep and stay, to appreciate the simple things, like access to water, a roof over my head, and food in my belly. To remember that relationships with family and friends, as well as other beings of this precious earth, are precious and what make us human beings.

I’m also on a journey to create something; a business; a community of like minded people; a safe place for people to be themselves; a future for myself with some financial security; opportunities to spend more time connected to nature.

I can’t wait to see what 2026 will mean for me, if my vision will match the path I end up walking down. It’s very exciting, and life affirming.

Here’s to birth, death and rebirth, to a life of change, and embracing what the universe has in store for each and every being on this beautiful planet.

When I’m not working in the Alps I like to spend time with good friends and just be in other places. That doesn’t mean travelling as a tourist (although of course I am one) but spending time in a place, with people, living and breathing the air, the vibe, just being a human.

Forests really draw me to them. And because rainforests are not familiar to me, I find myself particularly drawn in.

Yesterday I spent some time in a forest I know quite well. I was even able to answer questions about distances and time, and trail conditions, from some of the passers by. Even before we had left the car park.

Some of the trees in this forest are particularly big and inspiring, some of the sounds are very loud and unfamiliar, and yet I feel very at home in this place.

Wherever you go, you always take yourself with you. So learning to be yourself is such an important thing to do. It’s ongoing, we change, we reveal new parts of ourselves all the time. Then learning to let the landscape help you be yourself is also a great tool to have.

Oh and as well as well as taking yourself you can always take your running shoes too 😂😂

Good to catch up with . Our last runs together were in the Alps so it made a lovely change to be trail running the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney!
