As we conclude Nursing Home Week 2026, we just want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped put this amazing week together! It was a lot of work, but it was absolutely worth it. We truly feel this year was a huge success, and we already can’t wait to do it all again next year!
We wrapped up the week with our first annual chicken barbecue, a dirty soda bar, and of course Elvis in the building helping us celebrate 50s Day! Overall, it was such a fun and memorable day for both our residents and staff.
A huge thank you to Troy for helping us get our first annual chicken barbecue up and running! We also want to give a huge shoutout to 7 Brew in Dunkirk for donating on Monday so our staff could enjoy some amazing caffeinated beverages, and to Andriaccio’s for the generous gift card donation.
To the rest of our wonderful community — thank you for stopping by, dropping things off, purchasing chicken barbecue tickets, and helping support our team throughout the week. Your kindness and support mean more than you know.
We hope everyone had just as much fun celebrating this week as we did. Thank you again for making Nursing Home Week 2026 so special!

Superhero day was a success! Our staff and residents had an absolute blast today. Even though we didn’t get many pictures, the memories were definitely made! We enjoyed delicious subs from Tuscany, played superhero bingo, and tested everyone’s knowledge with superhero trivia!
Now we’re gearing up for the big finale tomorrow and the excitement is real! We’ll be celebrating Elvis and 50s day with dirty sodas, our first annual chicken barbecue, and lots of fun to wrap up an amazing Nursing Home Week! 🎤🍗🕺

Day 3 of Nursing Home Week was a total throwback to the 80s and 90s, and honestly it may have been our best day yet! We celebrated our amazing staff with all kinds of 80s/90s trivia, a giant charcuterie board, tons of laughs, and so many great memories made throughout the day.
It’s been incredible watching everyone come together and just enjoy the fun. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings for Day 4! 🎉🕺📼

Day two of celebrating our amazing staff during Nursing Home Week was another success! Today was filled with games, a delicious fiesta bar, lots of laughs, and quality time spent with both our residents and staff!

Watching everyone come together, smile, and enjoy the day is what it’s all about. We truly have the best team, and we are so thankful for all the hard work, compassion, and dedication shown every single day! 🌮🎉❤️

Day 1 of Nursing Home Week was a huge success! We started the morning off with a breakfast table for our amazing staff along with a huge selection of drinks from 7 Brew! ☕️💜
We also picked our daily winner and want to give a huge shout out to our Housekeeping Director, Sara Jagoda, for being our very first winner of the week! 🎉
The flower bar was a huge hit, and now we have Dani Jo here taking professional glam photos of our staff and residents! 📸✨
So far, Day 1 has been full of smiles, fun, and appreciation for the incredible people who make our facility feel like family every single day!

As the week comes to an end, we want to take a moment to thank all of our nurses at Dunkirk Nursing and Rehab! Every single day, you show up and give our residents the same love, compassion, and care that you would give your own families.
You take working in their home seriously, and it never goes unnoticed. At the end of the day, we always remember that our residents do not live in our workplace — we work in their home.
Thank you for your endless dedication, patience, kindness, and for everything you do to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families. We appreciate each and every one of you more than words can say! 💙

Today we had the pleasure of hosting BCS students for International Workers’ Day! They jumped right in helping with activities, housekeeping, and so much more. They were truly a breath of fresh air for our residents and such a huge help to our department heads. Their kindness, positive attitudes, and willingness to lend a hand did not go unnoticed. We are so grateful they chose to spend part of their day with us and we look forward to welcoming them back again soon!

We had to share some exciting news here at Dunkirk Rehab & Nursing! 🐦💛
We’ve been carefully watching over a bird’s nest, making sure it stayed safe and undisturbed—and this morning we were thrilled to find eggs!
Our residents are absolutely over the moon and already embracing their new roles as “aunties,” “uncles,” “grandmas,” and “grandpas.” We can’t wait to follow along on this little journey together.
