YOU WERE NEVER TOO MUCH
(By Jeff Foster & Matt Licata)
You’ve always felt deeply.
You’ve always seen the world in ways others couldn’t, or wouldn’t.
You were born with raw, tender wisdom inside of you.
But somewhere along the way, you were taught to shrink.
To dim your light, soften your voice, quiet the wild waves within.
To make yourself palatable. Agreeable.
Civilized.
To be safe. To be small.
But pause. Breathe. Feel into this:
You were never too much!
Your sensitivity is not a flaw.
Your empathy is not a mistake.
Your open heart is not a problem to be fixed.
These are gifts - sacred gateways.
Proof of your capacity to touch and be touched by this world.
To feel is not to fail.
To ache, to tremble, to long – this is not weakness.
This is life, moving through you.
You were never meant to be trimmed down,
or swallowed whole by someone else’s definition of “normal.”
You carry the gift of deep seeing.
Deep feeling.
Deep knowing.
And gifts like these were never meant to stay quiet.
They weren’t made for exile or apology.
They were made to breathe.
Your truth is not too much.
It is medicine.
It is poetry.
It is permission for others to feel.
Healing begins the moment trauma is met with tenderness.
When you turn toward your own pain with the same compassion
you’ve so often offered others.
When you stop apologizing for your depth
and begin honoring the sacredness of your experience.
You are not broken.
You are not too much.
You are here, today - raw, radiant, real.
Beautifully human.
Your truth is not here to harm.
It’s here to open hearts.
And this trembling world, especially now, needs hearts like yours.
You are ready.
Not because you’ve figured it all out –
but because you haven’t.
And in that honest not-knowing,
there is a fierce kind of grace.
Your presence is enough.
Your being is enough.
You are enough.
You are not too much for this life.
You never were.
