Genourob

Genourob Genourob designs, produces and markets medical devices for the evaluation of the state and performance of the ligamentous structures of the knee.

Based in France, Genourob is the leader in designing, producing and marketing of medical devices for the evaluation of the state and performance of the ligamentous structures of the knee. Genourob distinguishes itself from other companies through its innovation and determination to live in a world where Anterior Cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are effectively diagnosed and taken care of in the mo

st comfortable and fastest way possible. Our products help todays orthopaedic surgeons, Sports Doctors and Physiotherapists in their day-to-day work during the full process of a patient's medical care. The presence of Genourob's products in public or private institutions is a key indicator of their willingness to offer the patient the best healthcare one could ever hope for. Genourob sells a range of products promoting the "Automated Dynamic Laximetry" method (LDA method) to offer objective and reproducible results concerning the ligamentous structures of the knee. The method is applied with the help of automated tibial translation (GNRB Classic) or with controlled tibial rotation (ROTAM). Their usefulness extends from the preoperative to the postoperative part of the patient's medical management.

The UL ZF in collaboration with CEU SAN PABLO Madrid from Spain and Genourob - Medical Device Manufacturer from France is carrying out a research project Intra and inter reliability of knee arthrometer .

The research project is part of the research activities of the programme group P3-0388 and within the research project the Master student of Physiotherapy 2nd degree, Katja Mihalinec, will carry out measurements for the purpose of her Master thesis under the supervision of Dr. Renata Vauhnik and co-mentorship of Dr. Carmen Belen Martinez Cepa.

Pilot measurements with the DYNEELAX device were carried out at the CEU SAN PABLO University of Madrid during the week of 6.2. to 10.2.2023.

DYNEELAX - A 4 in 1 analysis medical device:
🔴 Diagnosis

What are🦵Knee Arthrometers❓

Knee arthrometers are designed to objectively 📊 analyse the various knee ligaments (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL).

Many knee arthrometers exist today:
- KT1000 (Anterior tibial Translation ↕ Assessment)
- GNRB (Anterior tibial Translation ↕ Assessment)
- Dyneelax (Anterior tibial Translation ↕ Assessment + Medial/Lateral Rotation 🔁 Analysis)
- KT2000 (Anterior tibial Translation ↕ Assessment)
- etc...

As of today, the DYNEELAX is the most advanced and optimised arthrometer GENOUROB provides. With a single device, you may indeed perform translation and rotation assessments whereas before, two separate arthrometers (GNRB + ROTAM) were needed.

In 10 minutes, it is possible to run a complete and accurate dynamic knee stability assessment which is complementary to the clinical and MRI examination performed today. MRI being a static test, it is indeed very interesting to additionally perform a functional analysis with the Dyneelax as it can greatly helps surgeons to plan their surgeries more precisely and lower surprises during these (surgeons are especially showing keen interest in the rotation results as Dyneelax is the first device in the world providing objective data on knee rotation stability).

This week we share another recent and very interesting study from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 about the effect of menstrual cycle phase on anterior knee laxity.

The GNRB knee laxity arthrometer was used to objectively 📝 analyse knee laxity.

Study: Effect of menstrual cycle phase, menstrual irregularities and hormonal contraceptive use on anterior knee laxity and non-contract anterior cruciate ligament injury occurrence in woman: a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.

What is the interest of knee 🦵 stiffness analysis ❓

As Bercovy said in 1️⃣ 9️⃣ 9️⃣ 5️⃣ in his study performed on more than 1502 knees: stiffness is a biomechanical parameter of knee ligaments. It is highly correlated with the clinical symptoms of instability (p = 0,0001). It is more accurate than laxity which is a numerical value without mechanical significance.

That is ultimately why we, at Genourob, created the GNRB knee arthrometer. A highly accurate 🎯 device that delivers precise ACL stiffness assessments.

Today, we pushed the bounderies of ACL stiffness analysis even further, by releasing the Dyneelax knee arthrometer: it is the first arthrometer in the world that allows knee lateral/medial rotation 🔄 assessments in addition to anterior tibial translation ↕ analysis.

The graph 📈 below represents stiffness tests performed on both knees of a patient suffering from an ACL injury: The green curve 🟢represents an anterior tibial translation performed on the healthy knee and the red curve 🔴, an anterior tibial translation on the pathological knee. The curves being wide apart & going in opposite direction is a direct indication of ACL rupture.

Our users from the orthopaedic department of the CHU of Amiens in France 🇫🇷 They acquired a GNRB laxity arthrometer to perform functional tests on the knee 🦵

The motorised tests performed by this device allow a precise diagnosis of ACL complete or partial tears in pre-op, but also a precise follow-up of the graft after ACL reconstruction surgery!

💪 New Study involving the GNRB Knee Laxity Arthrometer coming straight from the USA, University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences 🇺🇸

Title: The Reliability of the GNRB® Knee Arthrometer in Measuring ACL Stiffness and Laxity: Implications for Clinical Use and Clinical Trial Design

Conclusion
ACL laxity and stiffness measures were found to be reliably obtainable using the GNRB® knee arthrometer under the strict control of the individual’s alignment to the device and patellar pad forces. Reliable laxity and stiffness values may assist practitioners in clinical reasoning and the development of individualized ACL rehabilitation programs. Additionally, the sample size calculations presented may aid in future research design.

Dr Erick Solana, Orthopedic surgeon of the national football team of Costa Rica 🇨🇷 is the first surgeon in this country to have acquired the arthrometer ‼️

The team can now benefit of accurate functional analysis of their knees which is excellent when competing at this level 💯

Tests can indeed be done before, during and after the season to ensure close follow-up of the state of resistance of the ligaments in the knee 🦵

Abha International Private Hospital just opened its doors!

It is the first hospital in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 to acquire a Dyneelax that can be seen in their official opening video 💪💯

DYNEELAX key words:
🔴 Accurate: Knee translation and rotation stability testing allows a precise diagnosis of the ACL and its peripheral structures in Pre-Op but also in Post-Op. Fully motorized, the device is safe to use for but also during . In addition, performing Dynamic tests allow a more precise diagnosis.

🔴 Reproducible: sensors and parameters allow testing the patient in the same position everytime. Follow up is hence available which is essential for patient follow-up after surgery.

🔴 User-friendly: the software has been developed to ensure ease of use. Data is automatically saved, easy to transfer and assess.

🔴 Gain Time: Run knee translation and rotation tests to obtain an overall knee stability evaluation in 10 mins.

Dyneelax being a device made especially for 🦵knee joint analysis, it allows to reduce MRI waiting periods for patients suffering other pathologies that are not ACL related. Patients suffering from more severe pathologies such as may therefore access MRI sooner, which can be life saving 👍👍

MRI is usually the first exam that is performed when an is suspected and sometimes done for nothing as there is no tear. Dyneelax hence sorts🔃 the patients suffering from ACL related injuries and if a rupture is diagnosed, he/she may be prescribed an MRI to determine if other structures have been injured. Additionally, rotation analysis help in indicating what structures could be injured.
