Ruth has been delivering yoga training for two years, her style focuses on alignment within the body & calming of the mind. Coming from the Sivananda school of yoga, in Kerela, India, she teaches Hatha yoga emphasizing retention of postures correctly, stretching, strengthening & awakening the bodies senses throughout her sessions.
She facilitates pranayama sessions which work with ones breathing to engage & raise your energy. Controlling the breath is the easiest way to control the mind and daily classes are built in to ensure clients have a good introduction to pranayama practices.
She also trained as a Reiki practitioner in Rishekesh, India. Using healing hands transferring universal healing energy to awaken the bodies prana to leave clients feeling relaxed & in a state of equlilbrium after treatments.
Sivananda Yoga Teachings
The essence of Sivananda Yoga teachings comprises of five principles for physical and mental health. They are proper exercise; proper breathing; proper diet; proper relaxation; and positive thinking and meditation. Over the course of the retreat these five elements will be brought to life in our daily activities.
