A poem titled, “Prayer to the Masculine.”
I wrote this as a prayer from the feminine, Mother Earth to the masculine, father God in the sky. But it has a deeper personal meaning as well, as I have been on a long journey of calling my inner masculine back home.
Prayer to the Masculine
A space cadet
Floating in the sky
Of nigh.
Hither. Come hither.
Like the sun
Come to bespoke
The Earth,
Slowly clothing
Its naked body.
Lay me down
In your starry desert
And kiss my feet
Until you no longer remain
Oblivious to your own oblivion.
Let buoyant fears
That I am draped in sin,
Become the fertile ground
Of your holy prayers.
Might you see
The real dangers
That lie and lurk,
When there
Is no rightful home
To return to.
Meet me instead, in the darkness
Between mud and stone
And let us uncover
Where our ochre runs warm
And where our bones are laid bare
To truth.
