Meet Monica (Ramsukh Kaur):
Monica's yoga journey began in college with a regular practice that included a variety of yoga styles and formats in studios and destination retreats across Colorado. During these years, her yoga community began to expand and was largely influenced by a diverse network of health and wellness practices, holistic therapies and spiritual teachings. After college, with changing responsibilities and lifestyle, Monica's relationship with yoga and wellness began to evolve with the introduction to pre-natal themed yoga practices and learning ways to implement these techniques for particular therapeutic benefits and outcomes.
With the birth of her daughter, she began to explore children's-based yoga concepts and was introduced to the practice of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bajan. In 2012, she attended The Radiant Child Yoga Teacher Training with Shakta Kaur Khalsa in Herndon, Virginia and received a 200-hour YA (Yoga Alliance) certification. This monthlong training focused on specialty populations including youth, seniors, differently-abled, and specialty populations; the coursework and experience provided a solid foundation for her to teach children's yoga in Montessori schools and local yoga studios. Over the years, she continued to teach youth and a variety of age populations while also integrating Kundalini techniques into other therapy-based programs and concepts. In 2021, her training expanded to include KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) Level One Certification with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and Gurushabd Singh Khalsa.
