Can a cricket team really dismantle colonialism?

This isn't just a sports story, it's about the fierce, beautiful power of using the master's tools to dismantle the master's house. "Fire in Babylon" taught me that identity, pride, and resistance can be forged on a cricket pitch – with 90mph deliveries and unapologetic defiance.

When have you turned something meant to diminish you into your greatest strength?

Let's talk about the silent struggles that shape us.

We talk about everything else, but the silent shame (or secret pride) of where we come from often shapes us more than we dare admit. From the vibrant dancefloors of Singaporean clubs to the fierce loyalty of 'Westies' in Australia, and even the hidden guilt of privilege – class isn't just about money, it's about identity. And until we name it, it keeps us isolated.

How has your class story shaped you?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. You can find the full blog post on my website for a deeper dive.

Share your own reflections in the comments below. Let's break this silence together.

We think healing means fixing the past—a task that is impossible.

But what if healing isn’t about changing what happened? What if it's about changing your relationship to what happened? This is a story about a 74-year-old woman’s journey, and it's a powerful reminder that the work of finding inner peace and self-compassion has no expiration date.

This is a big one, but what is one belief about “healing” that you've had to unlearn in your own life? I’d love to hear your insights in the comments.

Can ChatGPT be your therapist? It can give you a list of "brutal truths" about yourself in seconds. Here's why that might be a terrible idea.

I tested a "tough love psychologist" AI prompt. While some of its insights were surprisingly accurate, it delivered them like a series of truth bombs.

This highlights the biggest risk of using AI for mental health: it can give you information, but it can't provide the safe, human relationship needed to process and integrate it.

Healing isn't about collecting data about your flaws; it's about the slow, supported journey of self-discovery.

This is a deep question, but what’s the difference for you between raw information and true wisdom? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update with you all about where I'll be focusing my content creation going forward. It's been wonderful sharing thoughts and reflections here on Facebook, and I've learned a lot about what resonates with you!

After some experimentation, I've decided to streamline things a bit. This means I won't be posting as frequently here on Facebook (or BlueSky and LinkedIn for that matter).

BUT – don't worry! I'm still going to be very active on Instagram and YouTube! If you've enjoyed my posts here and want to keep up with my latest videos, reflections, and insights, I'd absolutely love for you to join me there:

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/robertkos.therapy – For those personal moments and quick takes!

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/ – Where my longer, more in-depth videos live.

You can also always find my weekly blog posts on my website and get a special monthly message straight to your inbox by signing up for my newsletter: https://robertkostherapy.com/

This change allows me to concentrate my energy on creating the best possible content for you and connecting more deeply. It's tough to be everywhere all the time, and I want to make sure I'm showing up authentically and consistently where it counts most.

Thank you so much for your incredible support here. If this is a goodbye for now, I completely understand, and I wish you all the very best! I'm genuinely excited about the content coming up and hope to see many of you in my other communities.

We spend our lives running from the fear of looking foolish. But in my improv class, I'm learning that "failing" is one of the most powerful things you can practice.

It's a weekly workout for silencing your inner critic. The more you embrace making mistakes in a safe space, the less power they have over you in the real world. When you stop being terrified of getting it wrong, you finally get the freedom to be yourself.

What's something you've always wanted to try but were afraid of "being bad at"? Let me know in the comments!

For those carrying childhood trauma, body-based self-care can feel unsafe, shame-laden, or even impossible. This new Short breaks down why.

Let’s be honest: being in a dentist’s chair involves vulnerability, powerlessness, and the potential for pain and judgment. If you grew up in an environment where those feelings were a part of your daily life, then the dentist’s office can feel like a powerful, unconscious trigger.

Your body isn’t just reacting to the drill; it’s remembering. This video is about the "emotional echoes" of our past, and how they show up in the most unexpected, everyday places.

Let’s have a real, and vulnerable, conversation in the comments: What is one seemingly "normal" everyday task that you find incredibly stressful or difficult, and have you ever wondered why?

In this Short, I share a basic primer on logos, ethos, and pathos — three classic persuasion techniques — and explain why being able to spot them helps protect you from misinformation and manipulation.

We often think of inclusion as opening a door and inviting people in. But what if the room we're inviting them into was never built for them in the first place?

Watching wheelchair rugby, I saw a sport where diversity isn't just tolerated; it's a strategic necessity. The rules are designed around it. It forced me to ask a hard question: are we just opening doors, or are we willing to actually redesign the room?

I’m curious to know: When was the last time an experience completely shattered one of your own assumptions? I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

In this Short, I talk about how to verify the information you're learning during your self-education process. Even “gold standard” sources can contain bias, and it's worth being open to criticism, alternatives, and multiple perspectives.
